Matthew groaned in his hotel room. He curled up on his bed, trying to fight back the voice in his head that kept asking him to kill Gabriela immediately. The hoarse and deep voice inside Matthew kept telling him that Matthew wasn't strong enough to accept who he was.
"You are stupid! Why do you keep trying to fight me?" asked the hoarse voice in a very sharp tone.
Matthew hugged himself. He could see his nails slowly tapering. "Shut up! I don't want to follow you."
"If you don't let me off this time, you and everyone you care about will be affected by your actions," said the voice inside Matthew's head.
"If I get caught killing, it will be bad for them too," Matthew said. "I won't let that happen."
"What is the difference? You don't have to worry about exposing your identity if you finish Gabriela. You, Lily, and your father will be safe. Don't you think about them?"
