"What! Why!" shouted Samantha in a face of disbelief.
After showing my imperfect self to her, it seems that though she still respects me, it is not as an omnipotent god but as an idol that is still human and as humans, we all have imperfections that make us unique for who we are.
"Although I am sorry for not seeing and knowing all of you sooner, the implications and damage that I have caused all those years ago is not something I or the rest of the world can forget what I have done". Reasoning with Samantha hoping that she could see things from my point of view.
"But, but I'm sure that if you hid your face from them, no one would find out, wouldn't it be good then" countered Samantha as she desperately wanted my return.
"Then what if my identity has been found out? Those so-called loyal believers and followers will vanish and turn into haters" raising my voice at Samantha hoping that she would stop these shenanigans.
"But, But- "
"Enough!" I interrupted her and blasted a large amount of energy out of my body and to a nearby mountain range.
Boom!
As the mountain crumbled, a strange presence was felt observing us before it remains hidden again.
"Who's there" I shouted hoping for it to show itself.
"kekek, since your arrival on this land, I have never seen you lose this much of your cool before lich," said an eerie voice as the surrounding miasma condensed to form an undiscernible creature in the distance.
"Primordial Demon," I said grimly.
Primordial Demon, the oldest dark beast in existence and the strongest, even stronger than myself if I were to say so as for why it has yet to go out and destroy the world, well, that's because he is trapped here unable to take a step out of this land of the Unholy. Unfortunately, he is also the master of Cerberus.
"When did you get here? Are you here to get revenge for your dog?" I asked shielding Samantha from the primordial demon although it has no effect whatsoever, at least it shows my stand that I will be protecting her. After all, she is a descendant of my brethren that I could not look after so using my own life this time, I will protect and shield her from harm till my dying breath.
"kekek, have you forgotten? I am everywhere and yes at first but hearing that you had such a past intrigued me, after all, you never shared when we met, no to be precise, you were a loner in here. Unlike those converted chatterboxes who kept going on about their glory and desire for power" laughed the Primordial Demon before speaking in a more serious and solemn tone, "kekek, I think you should leave this place though, go with her and explore the world again maybe you will be able to find the mysteries that lie within your heart after all you don't belong here and you know it".
"You are chasing me out, well that's a first I have ever heard in my ten thousand years stay here" speaking in a more relaxed tone knowing that he was not here for a fight as I slowly let down my guard.
With a smile on his face, "kekek, leave, you are needed outside, I will give you 3 days to resolve yourself before I fling you out of this place" as his figure slowly disappears from the surroundings.
"Ahhh" Samantha screamed.
"What, what happened did he do anything to you?" I asked worriedly as I scanned her body with my diagnostic spell to see if there were any problems.
"My mask! I need my mask, or I will turn into a dark beast!" shrieked Samantha as she panicked as she looked through her medieval coin pouch throwing items even larger than the pouch out of the bag which surprised me as I have never seen such strange-looking things before.
"Oh no! I must have used up the rest of the spares!" Samantha started tearing up and then muttering, "I just met him, and I am going to turn into a mindless beast, how am I supposed to bring back news to the family or continue my journey with him…". As she mutters, the more depressed she got until a strange resolved formed in her head as she pulled a dagger saying "it's been an honour knowing you I don't wish to turn into a mindless beast so farewell" before she plunged the dagger through her heart.
Before the tip of the blade managed to touch her body, I held the dagger in my hands stopping it from moving closer to her body and shouted" Enough of this, I may not know what your mask is, but can't you inspect your body and realise that there is no miasma in your body!"
Hearing my shout, she collected herself and checked her body as her expression turned into that of surprise, "impossible how is it that there is no miasma in my body?"
"There is a fifth class non-elemental spell known as dispel where it can neutralise impurities in the surrounding area and based on the amount of mana you use, you can control the size and the duration of it, and well the only drawback would be that it can't be moved after casting it," I explained to Samantha thinking to myself that this is just general knowledge that even those that don't explicitly study magic should know.
"Fifth-class non-elemental magic! But aren't non-elemental spells, household spells up to third-class only?" Samantha showed a shocked look on her face before asking curiously.
If I still had flesh and blood, I would have vomited blood at this, "what do you mean, non-elemental spells were developed for those unfortunate people with magic talent but no affinity with the 4 elements for them to cultivate instead of taking up a faith or turning into a devil for power". I explained again to Samantha realising that times had changed over the years.
"Oh, actually there aren't many people being magicians these days as the world has now taken a more technological approach, like inventing new things like oil lamps, which are longer lasting than candles and people who do not have magical talent or affinity to light or fire can still light up the place. The mask was also an invention which helps filter the miasma from entering our bodies, although using one mask is not 100 per cent effective, layering them helps infinitely close to it". Explained clearly feeling proud of the new way that the world has been moving in.
"What!"
