The next morning when I woke up in my room which was in courtyard 12 I felt like I was bursting with energy as my strength talent had finally kicked in, the courtyard had four residences and later on I would most likely have neighbors
Since not everyone will arrive until 2 days later classes were not available yet, so instead I went to observe the disciple selection
I put on my black inner disciple clothes and grabbed my inner disciple jade token which was also black, they both had engravings made of silver in the shape of clouds
The rankings of disciples was as follows
Servant disciples: they wore grey uniforms and were usually normal people who didn't have the funds nor the talent to gain a higher position, but even so, through hard work they may become much stronger and be able to hunt the weaker beasts which was what they were hoping for
Outer disciples: they were selected from the servant disciples for their talent in martial arts and usually couldn't afford to buy their way into being inner disciples, eventually if their talent and hard work pays off then they could become inner disciples
Inner disciples: these were either very rich or had significant backing, usually they were also very talented as their parents would spend a lot of money to increase their talent through elixirs and herbs
Direct disciples: these were usually selected by elders or grand elders to learn from them directly, they usually trained in the same martial arts as them an received greater guidance
Core disciples: these were the most talented individuals that the Lin Empire helped nurture by giving assistance to the sect, the sect would cater to their needs and they would usually become grand elders or even sect masters
Elders: these were usually those that stayed in the sect for many years until their strength had reached a certain level
Grand elders: extremely powerful martial artists that were the core pillars of the sect
Sect master: the leader or leaders of a sect, sometimes there would be multiple sect masters and important decisions would be made with a vote from all of them, but since it was inconvenient usually there would only be one sect master
When I walked back to the gate I was greeted by a few servant disciples who had joined in the previous year, they were much stronger than me since I had joined just now and had no training, but even so they had to pay their respects as my ranking in the sect was higher than theirs
When I arrived I greeted the elder who was testing the disciples and told him I'd like to watch
"oh? Have you not received your practice manual from the martial library?"
Elder Mo asked as he stroked his black beard, he was nearly 60 years old but he still looked to be in his 40s, practicing martial arts allows people to live much longer than normal
"I have not, I decided to ask for others opinions first"
I replied, I had no time to look for martial arts as I wanted to first find myself some good talents, other than my lvl 1 strength talent which was versatile if I later on found a talent that contradicted with the martial art I chose then it would be troublesome
"good, good, patience is is one of the most important aspects of martial arts"
