The reason I wished to become a Xin artist was simply because I dreamed of flying in the sky and the mystical ways of their attacks
Unfortunately I have to cut those dreams short, at least for now and focus on reality, if I learn Jin arts it won't be late to learn Xin arts later in my life
Luckily my parents were moderately wealthy and could afford to send me to a martial arts sect rather than having to train in a basic martial school
Strength was all that mattered, no one knew if or when another earthquake would appear and destroy the last of the Lin empire
After a few days of traveling we reached Fenglow, Feng Li and I parted ways as he was going to the Fleeting Heart sect which was closer to the south of the city while I was going north of the city
Passing through the city I saw many people wearing combat uniforms and armor, some had dragged in a Beast they had hunted
/Razor Horned Bull/
/talent: strength lvl 1/
"ho ho, what a beast!"
I said as I patted it's body complementing those that hunted it
"haha! Took us a whole day to track it down"
The man said joyfully, a beast like this could feed a family for more than a week, not to mention many parts of the beast like the horns could be used to craft weapons or tools and sell for a good price
This was the primary income that most Xin and Jin artists preferred, they would usually form groups and hunt in the wilderness for beasts
The whole Lin empire was surrounded by giant mountains that defended against the beasts beyond, but even within the walls there were many dangerous beasts and unexplored areas
It wasn't uncommon for martial artists to die in the wilds from beast attacks, luckily the beasts are warry of humans and usually don't approach cities and stay within the wilds
With a happy smile I continued walking north through the city, I didn't encounter any more beasts that had talents so I left through the northern gate and soon arrived at the Thousand Mile mountain where the Qianli (Thousand Mile) Jin sect was located
The sect was located outside the mountain range not too far from the Fenglo city, I walked towards the gate of the Qianli sect which was and Asian style gate painted red with decorations hanging from it and came apon the first building which had a sign above saying 'administration office'
It was recruitment season at this time and many people had come to try their chances to join the sect for free, they crowded the gates where they were tested for their aptitude or talent
If they were talented enough they could be chosen as outer disciples, if they weren't but had good strength they could chose to become servant disciples
Servant disciples could learn the martial arts of the sect but they had to complete chores as payment, as for me, I showed my identity token and was let through the gates
I stepped inside and saw a middle aged man sitting behind a counter in a martial arts uniform, when I came closer he raised his head with a business smile
"how may I help you?"
"I'm here to join the Qianli sect for my training in Jin arts"
I replied as I took out a jade token that my parents had given me, they had already made all the arrangements beforehand
"Good! Here's your inner disciple token and uniform, you can live in courtyard 12, here is your key"
He said before showing me the way, I had arrived earlier than the others and would have to wait at least 3 more days before the rest of the disciples joined the sect due to some having to travel from far away or simply were busy and would arrive last minute
