Chapter 14 - Unwanted interruptions

"So if you don't want to end up like tarnished #1927, take your eyes off Rellana's twin moons and keep them on the spell she's casting." All this lecture is making me want to do is meet Rellana.

Another while goes by of training, drinking and reading before Subaru finally believes he's competent enough to go into the world and defend Emilia. In my opinion, I'd rate his glintsone sorcery at a lv11. Very impressive for someone without any head starts, just tutors and alcohol. I decided that throughout this, his tab is simply 'on hold' so I can support him properly.

As for myself:

[Glintstone sorcery lv30][Carian sorcery lv20][Primeval sorcery lv20][Night sorcery lv20][Gravity sorcery lv20][Crystalian Sorcery lv20][Moon sorcery lv20] [Finger sorcery lv20] [Oracular Sorcery lv20]

The best part of it all is that every single parchment, book or note touched is added to my mental library for me to read at any point in time. Since it's at the speed of my thoughts, they can all be read or re-read instantly.

I am finally ready to merge most of them all into a single star sorcery. "Merge glintsone, carian, primeval, night, gravity, crystalian, moon and oracular sorcery"

[Merging]

[Pending…]

[Pending…]

[Big bang sorcery lv1 -Merger-]

Oh god, that sounds powerful. Who on earth would I use that on? To test it out I blend together a few spells, creating a comet hurricane in the training room. Great purple masses with comet bubbles flying off spin around at the centre of the room.

As I gazed upon it in all its glory I hear a faint voice behind me, I dispel my magic and turn around.

"STOP THAT, WE CANT HEAR SHIT IN HERE!" My clone screamed at me, but in all honesty my ears were ringing a bit so I only heard half of it, it is quite loud why did no one tell me?

For this world, I'm just leaving it to Subaru, no one's bothering me and I'm sick of repeating myself to all of them. I'll try and learn the magic system, I'll get Subaru to steal a book or something for me. In fact didn't he say there was a library in the castle?

I've already introduced myself this reset so there's no harm, I send out my clone to scan for the library.

(Clone Olivarick POV)

Walking down the corridors I check each of the doors, avoiding people I can't be bothered to talk to. Unfortunately, I ended up checking Roswaal's office. "Shit" I said in English.

"Pardon? Never mind how about you take a seat Olivarick? We've never really introduced ourselves." Resigning myself to this, I take a seat across from him.

"So tell me about yourself, please spare no detail" He rested his cheek on his hand.

"So I'm Olivarick, I was created by the multiverse to create a relaxing environment that everyone can enjoy. Thus I am physically bound there, I'm a clone he made, when I get back or die I'll be absorbed into him and he'll get the memories as if he left."

"Bound? How cruel, but carry on please."

"Because like I said, being bound, it gets boring. So we practiced the sword, martial arts and magic. However this world might have a new system of magic that I'll have to incorporate into my existing magic, if applicable."

"Different magic systems?"

"So being linked to different worlds, one of which Gods exist in. So there's so much magic there it's ridiculous, I'm taking a break studying that magic to study this magic."

"Oh don't look down on us just yet, after all, how many different schools could there-"

I cut him off, "31. I've mastered 9. I want to master them all before I decide which one I'll stick with."

"31!" He coughs awkwardly, "Yes I see what you mean before now, I'll impede you no longer, Beatrice's library is hard to find but you'll find her eventually"

Thank god I can escape that creep, I don't like his eyes, they made me feel like centipedes were tickling my skin. Icky to put it simply.

Another short while and I found a library, though I feel like it's an understatement. It's genuinely massive, my mental library feels like a joke in comparison. In front of me sat what appeared to be a small blonde child reading a book.

[Beatrice - Great spirit of the forbidden library.

A spirit child of Echidna, created for unknown reasons.

Currently curious upon your arrival.]

Using a hushed voice I said, "Nice to meet you Beatrice, I'm Oliverick" I held out my hand to shake and she did so amiably.

"State your purpose, if Roswaal is calling me for dinner then tell him I will never join him." She looked ready to tear the book in two upon saying that.

"I'm just here to learn the basic concepts of this world's magic, see if I can apply it to my own." I summon a small vacuum in my hand before dispersing it.

"This world's? Ah you must be the new resident, or semi-resident, browse as you wish. However damaging a book in anyway shape or form will result in your… Immediate removal!" She suddenly acted dramatic as she said that.

"No worries on that here" It was just my plan to walk along the aisles and just run my hands along the books, adding them to the mental library.

"Is the library categorised?"

"Yes, I suppose it is. You'll find the appropriate signage above the associated genre or topic."

With a thank you I set off to find the magic section, making sure to get every book that I walk past added to the library as well. Looking over the shelves, I see 'spirits', 'magic', 'history', 'curses'. Honestly I think all of them would be quite good to know about, history will be boring but unfortunately gives context to discoveries,

I spent the next 40 minutes running my hand across every book spine I could find in the areas listed, along with everything I passed along the way. So I might've picked up some random manuals as I went along, but I don't care I feel like I'm getting withdrawals from being away from the kitchen.

"Thank you Beatrice, I'll get you something next time I come. I wasn't given a heads up about your existence before." And I dispelled myself, confusing the hell out of her for a moment.
