"He looks painfully familiar," Ava said inwardly as Wayne walked through the door.
Wayne walked in with his head down, trying to avoid the inevitable, but when he lifted his head, he was slightly confused as he looked around and didn't see Abyssal.
"You may have a seat," Erin said as Wayne walked inside the room.
Wayne quickly broke out of his confusion and sat in the seat the woman in the business suit was pointing to.
The room was curved and could be mistaken for a smaller level college lecture hall, there was a podium that the chair was next to, facing the four rows of people.
"Alright, shall we start and get this done?" Riot said as he pushed his sunglasses up on his face that went along with his biker apparel.
"Yes, we may start. I was informed your name is NightFall, and you took part in the mission that had the beast with the eggs. Do you mind telling us what happened from your point of view?" Erin said as everyone in the room listened intently.
Wayne went on to speak about how he saw the beast communicating in a way, how they followed it into the nest, and how dangerous it could've been if they were fully hatched.
After a few moments, Wayne finished retelling his side of things.
Erin looked at everyone and nodded her head yes after Wayne was done.
"Okay, that settles it, we need to be sure there aren't any more of those things, if so, we will have a lot more on our hands to clean up," Beast said as he stood in the back with his arms crossed.
"Do we have any more questions for Mr. NightFall before we dismiss him?" Erin asked.
"How long have you had your powers?" Ava asked when getting the opportunity to.
"Uh, I can say less than a year."
"What about your parents? Were they heroes as well?"
"Both of my parents are dead, so I'm not too sure."
Ava looked toward Erin for confirmation, and she nodded in approval.
Ava then looked at Wayne with furrowed eyebrows as if she was missing something, but she couldn't tell what. She only had this sneaking suspicion when Wayne walked into the room.
"What's with the third degree? Do you know the kid?" Daylight asked as he looked toward Ava.
"It's nothing, it's just... it's just he looks familiar, that's all."
Once she said that, everyone looked at Wayne a little harder.
"Now that you say it, I kinda see something familiar."
"Yeah, I see it too."
"I mean, I guess I can see it."
Everyone in the room started murmuring, Wayne didn't show any fear or have a clue of what they were talking about, but on the inside, he was pissing his pants, he just wanted to get out of here and never return until he was fully prepared.
After a few moments, no one could figure out why he looked so familiar.
"Alright, kid, it looks like there are no further questions to be asked, you're-"
"Are you perhaps related to Abyssal?" Ava asked one last question, cutting off Simon's mid-speech.
Wayne had already gotten up from the seat and taken a couple of steps away from the stage when Avav asked this question.
"Uh, me?" Wayne asked nervously as he looked at Ava and then Erin to see that her gaze was still on him with her ability activated. Wayne didn't know much, but he could not answer that question.
"Yes, you, who else would I be talking to? Daylight?" Ava retorted as everyone gave a slight chuckle at her jest.
"Why would I be related to a hero?"
"Are you trying to mock me? Answer the fucking question," Ava said as she was getting irritated.
"I just got my powers a few weeks ago, I'm sure you guys got them much younger," Wayne said, trying to stall for an opening.
"ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION!"
"Ava, that's enough, let him go, we have more important issues at hand than family matters," Simon said before Wayne could say anything else.
Wayne had a huge sigh, and relief rolled off his shoulders. Meanwhile, Ava bit her lip in anger as she just glared at Wayne with her suspicions screaming at her.
Wayne left the room and went towards the others who were waiting.
"What took so long?" Mystic asked as he got up off the couch, ready to go.
"They just had extra questions about the little ones since I fought them," Wayne said as everybody nodded their heads in agreement, thinking that would be a good reason to get asked more questions.
"Alright, guys, I will look to see how things are going here and find out if we can get another mission, for now, just rest up and enjoy the peace and quiet. I assume it's going to get crazy soon," Duggar said as he dismissed everyone.
Meanwhile, Ava stayed behind discussing how they should move along with the new information with the others, and then when she was done, Erin went to her side as they headed to her room.
"Where are we going, ma'am?" Erin asked as she noticed they weren't heading to her room.
"Isn't it obvious?... I think that kid is Roys," Ava said, power walking towards his room. After a few moments, she reached his room and started pounding on the door.
"Open up, you pathetic piece of shit!"
After a while, shadows on the floor started darting under the door from all locations.
