"What the hell is that?" Wayne said with an uncomfortable look on his face.
"No shit."
Wayne wasn't trying to pick a fight with the beast, he was hoping someone else would come along and clean up this mess, his only objective was to get to Vernon. When Wayne looked back at him, he saw that Vernon had noticed the beast and was yelling at the man who was making the bridge to go faster.
Wayne was trying to figure out where he could teleport to so he could be close enough to Vernon and launch his attack. After a few moments, Wayne saw a spot close enough to the group that he could make his move.
After another [Shadow Void] Wayne appeared near a tree that had a cement wall big enough for him to stay crept down and not be seen. Vernon was only four meters away and he had the element of surprise so he knew he had to be as quick as possible to make sure no one would have time to react.
[Death smoke]
Wayne began filling up the air with his deadly smoke and one of Vernon's men was the first to notice.
"What the hell is that?" one of the guards looked down to see the dark smoke moving towards them. When he said that everybody looked towards where he was talking about. One of the guards looked around for a second and used a stroke of wind to blow the smoke away.
"That's peculiar," Vernon thought inwardly watching the smoke blow away.
Wayne didn't like that they were noticing the smoke, he was thinking that they will probably figure out where he was before he got to make a move, he used [Shadow Void] to get some distance to rethink his plan.
Wayne just made an annoyed face that he was getting chided, but he ended up agreeing with Helgor.
"You're right I didn't come all this way to be stealthy," with that Wayne grew a determined face and began running full speed towards the group that was six meters away.
"Now what?" one of the guards said as he saw Wayne running at an unnatural speed, towards them.
"Does he think we will help with that beast?" Vernon said with a chuckle.
Wayne jumped in the air using the momentum from his speed and the strength in his legs to jump high in the sky and fall in the middle of the group. As soon as Wayne landed he knocked up pieces of the sidewalk they were on. The group didn't sit idle once Wayne landed, one shot out energy beams from his eyes while another used telekinesis and stopped the debris from falling on his fellow men. The rest of the men waited to see if the boy was taken care of while the dust was beginning to settle.
Wayne used [Hardened skin] to deflect the beam into the ground to give him some cover, while he was in the dust he used [Tortential Spikes] on the person using telekinesis. The spikes materialized above and hailed down as they went through him with ease, his comrades were taken aback as they didn't expect this to happen. The next second Wayne jolted out of the dust beside two of the men and activated [Abyssal Nightmare] on one while grabbing the neck of the other letting Helgor have a snack, by the time the effect of [Abyssal Nightmare] was over the man fell to his knees with a straight face, tears coming down his eyes, Wayne then used [Torrential Spikes] on him while looking back at the others.
All it took was seven seconds and three of the men were dead. Vernon was shocked and silent as everything happened so fast, he didn't register that three of his men were dead until it was too late.
"Graves! Do your job and handle him!" Vernon demanded to a big guy that looked like he sleeps lifting weights. Graves walked up to Wayne as if what Wayne did just didn't happen. Wayne looked at this and chuckled to himself.
"I'm guessing you're the Class B I heard about."
"The names Graves and it's your unlucky day." As he said that his body grew a metallic film over him and charged toward Wayne like an angry bull.
Wayne just balled his fist and threw it out to hit the oncoming Graves, when his fist connected Wayne's arm went momentarily numb from just the sheer force and Graves got knocked back a meter with his feet dragging on the floor, after he stopped he grabbed his chest in pain while falling to one knee.
Graves was worried for this is one in two times he felt pain while using his powers, he is always aware of the dangers of his job, and taking guard duty for Class C didn't seem like a risk. Graves never expected a Class A to be here, it was the only explanation for the pain he was feeling at the moment. So many scenarios going through his head as he wondered if he would die if he continued.
"You're actually kind of tough, I would love to play with you but I have some business with your boss," Wayne said as he walked past the Graves and headed straight for Vernon.
The last guard Vernon had was the ice user and he knew if Wayne could hurt Graves, he was the real deal, he moved from beside Vernon as if telling Vernon to deal with his own problems.
Vernon was beyond pissed, he was so close to freedom and this guy came along and fucked it all up for him. Vernon didn't want to use his poison for it didn't know friend from foe but since everyone was dead or an enemy he didn't have to hold it back anymore.
"Alright kid you picked the wrong day to fuck with me," Vernon said as he inhaled some air and exhaled a large green smog out of his mouth.
"This must be his poison," Wayne thought inwardly, he was going to use [Torrential Spike] again but as Wayne thought of it he got knocked to the side by Graves, who wanted to at least get a couple of hits in before he died.
Wayne skidded across quickly regaining his balance on his own two feet.
The green smog began covering most of the area encompassing the bodies nearly reaching Graves but he moved away to avoid getting touched by the poison.
Wayne saw the distance between the two and sighed to himself.
"So I guess I'm really going to have to use this," Wayne said as he pulled out the gun Zeak made for him and pointed it at Vernon.
