Chereads / Shadow Symbiote / Chapter 21 - Abomination

Chapter 21 - Abomination

The Seventh Circle Building was bustling with energy even if it was early in the morning, everyone was doing their part in trying to eradicate the beasts. Some were more excited than most, this was the busiest it's been since the war. On the highest floor where the top ten offices and important meetings are held, a man was pacing nervously in front of an office.

"What should I say? I'll just tell her the truth right? She probably has that bitch with her anyways." he thought.

At that moment the elevator at the end of the hall opened up and a pale-skinned woman with black hair and green eyes exited. She was wearing what she usually wears, her greek-styled clothing of loose linen and a gold reef on her head, behind her was another woman who was wearing a classic business suit with glasses.

"Ava you're here, I-I wasn't waiting long."

"Roy, you're lucky I've had my coffee already."

Ava eventually walked to her office which was basically a tenth of the building and this building was the size of two football stadiums. Erin opened the door allowing Ava to pass in front of her and just left it open while following Ava, letting Roy just follow along. Ava was walking to her white couch to lay on while Erin stood beside her, her interior was mainly greek in style with just a hint of modern to showcase certain technology.

"So, tell me what seems to be the problem," Ava said as the drone flew by and gave her a glass of wine, and then flew off again.

"So remember how in the prophecy you saw there was an 'abomination' wreaking havoc on everybody and you even saw Simon die..."

"Go on."

"Well the only reason you thought I should've killed my son was that he was linked to it, so I dampened his powers at birth with the doctor's help hoping it be enough but you still saw the end.."

"GET TO THE POINT!" Ava erupted.

"Well you know I hired some people to take care of them but-but I haven't heard back from them and I have this strange feeling that things didn't go as planned."

"What the fuck did you tell those idiots!?" Ava said as she finished her glass and slammed it at the wall in frustration, causing it to burst.

"I just told them to kill the family and I'd pay them handsomely."

"Well it looks like you got fucking scammed, how hard is it to kill one fucking kid with no powers!?" Ava was getting more irate with every passing second.

"I'm sorry I was trying to look for him but I haven't seen anything about him in the slums."

"Are you sure you belong on this floor? ...Pfft... you're lucky I'm not Simon," Ava said walking towards Roy as she continued.

"If you saw what I saw, you would understand, it feared no one, and the abilities it used were similar to yours but..different... You know what? I'll give you until this beast thing is sorted and if you haven't succeeded, I'm telling Simon so he can deal with you AND him," Ava huffed with a sinister grin.

"But where am I supposed to start? I don't even know where he is," Roy said deflated as if he had already lost before he even started.

Ava rolled her eyes and just looked to the sky. She began saying an eight-digit combination of numbers and letters. As she was done a panel popped out of the flush wall and walked up to it to grab its contents.

"Take this but know that this will shorten your time to five days." She said as she handed over a needle with white liquid.

"If I have this I will make it a guarantee that I find him, where did you get this anyway? I can't find anyone who makes it in the city anymore," Roy asked as he took the needle from her.

"I don't get it from the city, but that's all I will tell you, now get the fuck out of my office and do your damn job."

Roy didn't hesitate and immediately left the office to go to his.

"You think that was a smart idea giving him that?" Erin said as Roy left the room.

"No, but either way he needs to start carrying his weight, and this is a project that should've been dealt with," Ava said as she retrieved another glass of wine.

"True, but you think his son would be stronger than him with the same powers?"

Ava started giggling and Erin didn't know if that was her answer or not.

"Erin, I don't think shit, why do you think that the one day I took the serum was the day I saw that? The future changes all the time but after multiple uses, I still saw the same end. Haha even in one of them I saw some kind of humanoid alien but that was only once out of the many times."

Ava kept rambling as she was a lightweight and Erin just stood there and listened.

Meanwhile, Roy was on his way to his office as he thought about how he should utilize the serum the best.

"He should still be in the slums, if I'm not mistaken and if I see those guys I'll make sure I'll kill them myself," Roy thought as he got inside his office which was completely dark, and walked towards the center where a circular mat was.

He looked at the serum for a moment and then injected it into himself, he felt a twinge of pain but he was used to it, the veins on his neck started bulging and his eyes were growing red veins, after a few more seconds he let out a rasp as the pain rescinded.

He activated his ability and dark figures came from the floor that had his silhouette, it was enough to fill the room, and even after he gave out his orders more kept populating.

"Find Wayne Hendrickson!"
