Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

"Are you sure this isn't from the Cylon?" Mark asked.

Eric who was drinking a small cup of grape extract just made an 'ok' gesture with his index and thumb. The blonde-haired man placed the empty cup on the glass table in front of him. His back was against the sofa and his eyes were serious on Mark.

"I'm good friends with one of the Cylons, and they don't know about this," Eric put one foot on the other.

"Then who? They are the only werewolf colony most likely to make this kind of threat to their enemies. If they don't, then who?" Mark asked in frustration. In front of them were two handwritten letters that were at the heart of Mark's problem. And Mark was completely clueless in guessing who was behind the letters containing the threats.

"Who got the letter first?" Eric asked.

"Me," Mark replied, "Then Ben also got it from the mailbox and he gave it to me. And a week later Julia got it too."

"Wait Mark-" Eric took the two letters and read them closely, "There are strange numbers he always writes at the bottom. Do you know what they mean?"

"Bill is trying to figure it out. But he's sure it suggests a name."

"He's not trying to hide his identity," Eric muttered as he put the letter back on the table. His eyes glazed over as if he was trying to remember something. Then an unfamiliar name flashed through his mind as he managed to remember it.

"Brandon?" he said.

Mark frowned, "Brandon Elliot, you mean?"

Eric nodded, "Brandon is always in contention. The rest of the werewolf colony doesn't even like him. I know this is just a rough estimate, but what's wrong with suspecting that guy?"

"Listen, Eric, Brandon hardly ever has anything to do with us. He's clean, his colony too. What's the reason he's sending these letters? What's more, Brandon hasn't even seen Julia once. No way," Mark shook his head. He grabbed a bottle of wine and poured half of its contents into his small cup.

"What about Terrion?"

Eric's sudden words left Mark speechless. His hand which was pouring the wine stopped, leaving a single drop on the lip of the dark green bottle. He put the bottle of wine back down and then chuckled.

"Hey you," he laughed in disbelief, "Did you forget that Terrion was extinct? The remaining members of their group even chose to join another werewolf colony."

Heard Mark says that Eric didn't respond. To be honest, Eric's heart and mind didn't agree with Mark's thoughts at all. Mark was too relaxed about the Terrion colony which was once the most dominant werewolf colony in America. Eric knew that Terrion had not been heard from since their leader was killed by Mark, but the man had forgotten the fact that there were Terrion's bloodline descendants who were still alive out there. It is possible if the child grows up well and intends to avenge the death of his family.

"There's still one of their descendants living out there, in case you forgot," he said.

Mark took a sip of his wine and rubbed his lip on the small glass cup. His eyes stared intently at the pale white man in front of him.

"You don't think such a little kid is taking revenge on me, do you?" Mark squinted disapprovingly when Eric brought up Terrion. It was as if Eric was afraid that Terrion had risen from the darkest point in their history because of him.

"I thought so," Eric put his elbows on his knees, "You're forgetting the fact that there is Terrion's blood running through his body. He was born to the wife of the leader of the werewolf colony who was in power during his time. a vase and a gun with his bare hands. What can't he do now? Sixteen years have passed and by now he must have grown into a man who understands everything."

"What do you mean? You're trying to scare me with a snotty brat like that?!" Mark raised his voice. But Eric still sat there quietly, trying not to provoke his boss' anger, "He doesn't even know who killed his parents and sister."

"Are you sure he had left the house by then after killing Nick and Bob? What if he didn't go and just hid there and saw you?" Eric voiced what had always been stuck in his brain.

Ever since Mark said that a little Terrion had escaped him, Eric had always thought that the boy might avenge his parents on Mark one day. Mark might be able to calm down because he thought the boy had never seen him. After all, Mark was sure the little boy had run away after successfully killing Nick and Bob. What can he do anyway? He was just a ten-year-old boy who probably accidentally killed two adults out of fright.

But Eric didn't think so. Eric was sure that the boy was smarter than the average ten-year-old. Moreover, he was a werewolf, not an ordinary human like those with limited abilities. And it's been sixteen years. The child has grown up. He may search for the killer of his family until he finds him and takes revenge.

"Come on Eric! Critical thinking is necessary, but realistic thinking is more necessary! What will a ten-year-old boy who loses a family member remember?!" Mark remained firm in his thoughts.

"Okay if he doesn't avenge his family's murder. Then what if he collects the promise? He might know your father's agreement with the leader of Terrion. What if he demands what is rightfully his. Then what are you going to do?" He said, "If he knows the agreement, he will charge it."

Mark clenched his fists at Eric's words, "Don't be ridiculous! These letters are against the agreement. After all, no one knows Sophia's whereabouts. I've hidden Sophia from our dark world."

Eric gave a small snort. He fiddled with his cellphone for a while before showing his chat history with Ben, Mark's first child.

"Ben texted me. He received the same letter this morning at his college. This is a serious matter, Mark. Whoever it was, he's gone this far. And it's possible he knew Sophia's whereabouts. Maybe next week he'll send Sophia a similar letter. Who knows?"

Mark was pensive. Eric is right. He couldn't ignore what Eric said. Whoever this sender is, he's a danger to Sophia. And to be honest, what Eric said earlier affected his mind more or less.

Mark was furious.

What if the sender of this threatening letter was indeed the boy he nearly killed sixteen years ago? What if the boy intends revenge? What if the boy found out about the ridiculous agreement his father made with the werewolf Terrion colony? He always considered his father's agreement with Richard Wyatt complete to the point where he killed Justin Wyatt and his family. He always thought everything was over there until he forgot that one of the main characters in the agreement was still breathing to this day.

"I have to hide Sophia," he muttered. Yes, Mark thought he should hide Sophia for some time to keep her safe from that threat
