Chereads / The Monster I Love / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Sophia was still curled up in the corner of the room when Lucas entered her room. The girl closed her eyes tightly as Lucas stood right in front of her. She was afraid, she was afraid that it would be Daniel who hurt her last night.

The man's cold hand gently caressed the top of Sophia's head, causing the younger one to slowly dare to look at him. The morning light that had just appeared with a faint glow managed to penetrate the black curtain there, helping her to recognize that the man before her was not Daniel.

"P-please.. help me.."

Lucas crouched down to adjust his height to Sophia who was still curled up. His face looked flat, but deep down he felt very sorry for Sophia's condition.

"I can't help you," Lucas replied.

"Why? Are you Daniel's friend?"

"Sophia.."

Sophia was silent, but her heart asked how the man knew her name. Neither Daniel nor the man in front of her must have been eyeing her for a long time because they already knew her name even though she had not introduced herself. Her still watery eyes stared expectantly at Lucas.

"You know who Daniel is?"

"Yes, he told me about him being part of the Terrion clan," Sophia replied. "But I don't understand, didn't Terrion go missing a few years ago?"

"Not really,"

"Are you one of them too?"

Lucas shook his head, "I'm just an ordinary werewolf. I'm an outcast werewolf. I didn't join any clan until I met Daniel," he replied.

"Then can you help me out of here?" Sophia pleaded with a pitiful look. Hope this man will help her. But it didn't.

"Get used to it here. Don't ever make Daniel lose control or the wolf inside him will hurt you further."

Sophia looked at the back of Lucas who was about to leave the room.

"Daniel is so bad at controlling himself, sometimes he even almost kills me. You better shut up, it's for your own good."

"What goodness!" Sophia screamed in annoyance, but Lucas didn't care and went back to leaving her alone in the room.

"Werewolves are disgusting," said Sophia, staring intently at the closed door again.

..

..

Sophia was pensive again in the narrow room. Her hands were clutching the white blanket and her eyes were staring at something behind the black curtain. Sophia knew it was still daytime outside, but the dark atmosphere in the room made her feel like it was a long night.

Her mind was full of things. About what the reason for being here. About why she had to become the mate of a werewolf. About Daniel, a Terrion clansman who was thought to be missing somewhere, suddenly reappears.

Sophia tore off the blanket and got up from the bed. Slowly she approached the window and opened the black curtain. She could only think of opening the window there as a way out.

Her tiny hands tried to pry the hinges of the window. Her heart was beating fast as she wished the window would open. Her breath roared. Sophia peeked out the window and realized that she was on the second floor now. She could see the backyard of this building, and also the thick forest behind the wall fenceㅡor whatever it was calledㅡ there. Sophia believes this house was deliberately built in a deserted area. Because as far as her eyes could see, not a single house was standing around where she lived now.

"What should I do?" She muttered with her forehead starting to sweat even though the Air Conditioner there was working quite optimally.

Sophia headed for the desk with the many drawers. She opened the first drawer and only found a medicine box that Lucas had left there in case she needed another medicine. In the second drawer, Sophia found nothing but a frame without a photo. In the third drawer, Sophia found a rusty pair of scissors.

"I have to get away from that monster," Sophia mumbled and the little scissors and returned to the window.

Her hands tried to pry the hinges there as hard as she could using the scissors she was holding. Her forehead was dripping with sweat as not a single hinge was broken as a result of her actions, as if they didn't support her escape. While she was still seriously struggling with the hinges of the window, the sound of the door opening was heard and startled her until she dropped the scissors in her hand.

The scissors fell right in front of a pair of feet wearing an expensive shoe. Sophia swallowed hard when she met the eyes of someone she really didn't want to see right now.

Daniel's originally flat expression began to harden as his eyes caught what had just happened.

Daniel stepped on the scissors. And Sophia didn't find anything good that might happen after this, other than the sharp gaze of the monster in front of her that seemed ready to poke a hole in her head at any moment.

Sophia wasn't ready to meet the man. Or maybe it will never be ready forever. Sophia knew she had woken a wolf from its nap. And this man in front of her who unfortunately Sophia admits to be very handsome even though only wearing a black shirt and knee-length denim pants (unfortunately again, why did she admit the man's visuals even though he has behaved like a monster)ㅡ will definitely finish her off.

It's really bad luck.

His footsteps slowly retreated as the tall body drew closer to her. In her brain now was playing a scene where she immediately jumped over the bed and fled out towards the slightly the door. But Sophia didn't have that kind of guts. She was scared to the point that she almost died. And Sophia didn't have time to think about anything when she realized that her body was completely surrounded by three things; bed, walls, and a monster named Daniel.

"I-"

Slap!

Her body fell onto the bed when Daniel's big hand slapped her. It was so painful because this was her first slap in the twenty-two years he had lived.

Sophia closed her eyes tightly as Daniel got on top of her and the man's hands started to strangle her neck again.

"What do you want to do huh?! Fuck you!"

"Akh-" Sophia couldn't make a sound because of the strangulation of her neck. Her tears fell. Her body trembled, afraid that the man in front of her would seriously kill her with just a stranglehold on the neck.

"You want to escape?!"

Sophia grabbed Daniel's hand that was strangling her, trying to free the man's grip. But her body was completely limp. Her legs, which were originally kicking, slowly began to lose their ability to move. Even more so when her clear eyes caught that Daniel's hands were starting to change shape, becoming wolf hands full of sharp nails.

Sophia sensed that her end was imminent, and she had completely given up. She thought, better to let her die like this instead of getting another torment that might be waiting in line at a later date if she couldn't escape the monster. Her father and mother might also have let her die rather than she was tormented in her life.

Sophia was already starting to lose her breath when Daniel let go of the stranglehold and his hands were back to normal. The monster wanted to play with her life. He took her back and forth like a tug of war as if her life didn't matter.

Sophia coughed loudly many times. Her tears continued to flow, unable to imagine that there would be many of these events in the following days.

"I beg you.. I'm sorry .." There was nothing else left in her mind other than begging the man. Forget about self-esteem and others. The monster loved toying with its life, and Sophia was really afraid of it.

Daniel grabbed a fistful of Sophia's hair, pressing it against the bed until it made her look up. The moans of pain that escaped her lips became the background of the sound in the room.

"Damn it! You want to try to test my patience?!"

Sophia shook her head, "No.. I'm sorry.."

"Say what you want!" His hissed.

"Aakh! Sorry! No! I don't want to do anything! P-please.. it hurts.." Sophia tried to release the man's grip on her hair. It hurts. Her hair felt like it was going to fall off her scalp.

Daniel let go of his hand and got up from the bed. He immediately grabbed Sophia's hand to join him. The man pulled her "drag" out of the room, carried her up to the rooftop, and Sophia couldn't guess what he was going to do to her. But whatever it is, it's definitely not a good thing.

Daniel opened the door to the rooftop of his mansion and the winter wind suddenly blew against their faces. Daniel continued to pull her to the edge of the rooftop which actually doesn't have a barrier or fence thereㅡ. Daniel kept pushing her until she reached the limit, until Sophia felt weak with fear when she could clearly see the courtyard of the mansion clearly laid out below her.

"You want to escape by jumping from the second floor right?! Then jump now!" Daniel said behind her in a low voice. He brought his lips to Sophia's right ear and whispered, "Or I can push you from here." His hands gripped Sophia's upper arm, intending to push her away.

Sophia rolled her eyes in surprise at Daniel's words. "No! Please!"

Daniel continued to advance which automatically made Sophia also walk forward towards the end of the rooftop. Sophia cried more hysterically as her body was pushed even more. She was very afraid of heights and all of this was made worse by the fact that she was only two steps away until her body was certain to fall from over ten meters high.

Sophia screamed hysterically, "No! I beg you! Stop it!"

Daniel started to let go of one grip on the sweetie in front of him, but he still continued to push Sophia.

"No.. I beg you to stop.. please.."

Daniel smirked when there was no longer any distance between the tips of Sophia's toes and the tip of the rooftop of the mansion. And the fact that Sophia was begging him was a treat in itself. He was happy when he was made to rule over the lives of his enemies.

"Daniel, I beg you."

Daniel slowly let go of his grip on Sophia's left arm, releasing the only grip on her that made her hysterical.

"No! Don't let me go, Daniel!"

Daniel smirked at that.

"I didn't hear." Then he actually let go of Sophia and took a step back from her. If Daniel pushed her even with a gentle pushㅡ it was certain that Sophia would fall from that height.

Sophia closed her eyes tightly. Unable to look down. It's even more difficult to accept the fact that maybe soon she will die a pathetic death.

"Don't let me go! Please don't leave me alone!" She screamed in panic.

"What will I get if I don't let you go?" The man asked clearly wanting to play with her fear.

Sophia screamed desperately. And she couldn't think of anything but to say,

"Anything! I'll give anything! But please.. hold me now! I'm so scared."

Daniel smirked in satisfaction when he heard the desperate screams from his girl.

"Of course," Then his hand pulled one of Sophia's hands again.

Sophia turned around and reflexively hugged the man. Her cry broke. Sophia was really afraid of heights, and she would have almost died if only Daniel had really pushed her.

"Please.. don't let me go Daniel.. I'm scared.." Sophia cried in her chest, hugging her tightly. Daniel looked away before pulling Sophia away from his body.

"Go back to your room, warm up because it's so cold in here," Then he left Sophia standing there just like that. With no one to comfort her. Leaving her body, which was only wrapped in a t-shirt, felt cold because the snow slowly fell on the earth.

The man just left her as if what he had done in the previous minute was nothing.

Yes, it's nothing compared to the pounding of his heart when he felt that pathetic girl's tight embrace.
