She found a bedroom furthest from Kain, at the end of the hallway.
Then slammed the door shut and started unpacking.
Jack flew back to Kain's bedroom. The feathers on his head hung down. Looking at him sitting on the sofa, Jack said glumly, "Little master, stinking girl changed her room."
Kain looked down at the floor and murmured, "Uh-huh, I heard you."
Jack flew around him, "Little master, are you upset?" Kain didn't respond, sitting in darkness, motionless. Jack muttered, "Finally someone comes to the castle. Not only is she not scared away, but she is also nice to the little master. But she just seemed to be angry. Will she leave the castle?"
Next day noon, Susie left the castle, said goodbye to Mr. Gray, got in the car, and headed for Karson, a media company she worked for.
She saw a group of people gathered to discuss as she arrived her department.
"Thanks to Miss Taylor, our department can get the new project this time."
"That's nonsense. Miss Taylor took the credit for all the new projects we got."
"Miss Taylor is talented and she is dating Mr. Murphy. I'm sure she'll become Mrs. Murphy."
The "Miss Taylor" they talked about of course wasn't Susie, but her sister, Dora Taylor. Since they were little, they have been compared to each other by people around them, and Dora had always overshadowed her.
Suddenly, the chatter in the crowd became quieter. Someone turned to look at her.
"Susie?!" a colleague called her name in surprise. "Haven't you resign? What are you doing here?"
Susie had a bad premonition. "What did you mean?" she frowned. The colleague answered, "Your sister did the separation for you. She said you had jumped ship to a better company and no longer needed this job!"
What?!
Shocked, doubtful, Susie went straight to her sister's office.
Dora sat behind her desk, heard the door open, frowned lightly, looked up from her papers and saw Susie. She was surprised for a few seconds before asking, "Susie? What brings you here?"
"What did these rumors out there mean? Why did I resign? And jumped ship? When? How come I didn't know?"
Susie threw a barrage of questions, her anger running high.
Dora got up, closed the door, and then said slowly, "Susie, you have to understand me. I am the director of the company, I can't ignore the waste of company resources."
Susie's chest was heaving. She was in a worse mood now than learning from Mr. Gray that she was sold to the Jackson family by her father.
Her sister was so cruel as to dismiss her from the company after her sacrifice for their family.
Susie took a deep breath and looked at Dora, "Miss Taylor, I implore you to withdraw my separation report. The company had no right to fire me without notifying me."
Dora gazed at Susie for a few seconds, smiled, put her hands on Susie's shoulders, and said softly, "My little Susie, are you mad at me? You still resenting me for making dad to sell you to the Jackson family?"
Susie stunned with mouth wide open. "You make dad do that?"
