Chapter 16 - You Are Murderers

Mr. Gray held a torch in his hand, stood in front of Mrs. Jackson, bent down and bowed his head respectfully, "Mrs. Jackson, the fire has been lit as you ordered."

In an instant, a raging fire broke out in the castle, and soon lit up the dark sky.

Mrs. Jackson was wearing a tight black dress with her arms folded and standing in front of the castle as if enjoying a grand evening of lights.

When Susie arrived at the castle, the raging fire almost engulfed the entire castle.

No! Susie screamed in despair!

There was a human living in the castle! He was blind so he might not have noticed the fire, or he might have been burned to death before he had time to escape!

Although he was seen as a monster, a beast by others, he never really hurt Susie during the days she lived in the castle.

Susie stared at the fire, furiously. There was only one thought in her mind. Kain couldn't die.

From the first day she entered the castle, he was her responsibility, and as long as there was a chance, she would save him!

Susie stumbled towards the castle. Mrs. Jackson frowned and made a gesture at Mr. Gary when she saw Susie. Mr. Gary comprehended immediately and ordered some servants to stop Susie.

Four strong men surrounded her in an instant. She picked up a stick from under her feet for defense, and swung it towards them.

Susie has no chance of winning because she was a girl after all.

She was easily subdued by one of the men, who twisted her hands behind her back, and swung her whole body under Mrs. Jackson's feet. His shiny leather shoes pressed Susie's profile tightly, making her unable to move.

"Miss Taylor, you'd better be a lamb, otherwise you will suffer more." Mr. Gray stood aside, looking terribly calm. "This is what Kain deserves, he hurt the young master."

Susie glared at him and Mrs. Jackson, "You are murderers! I will testify and tell your crimes in front of the judge!"

Mrs. Jackson sneered and said condescendingly, "I'm sorry, Miss Taylor. What I killed is not a human, but a monster."

Susie would never have had the courage to argue with Mrs. Jackson at any other time, but Kain's death made her lose her mind and she roared, "No! I'll call the police. None of you can escape! You all have to pay for Kain's death!"

Mrs. Jackson laughed, "I'm curious what sweet words that bastard said to you to make you protect him like this. But I pity you, Miss Taylor, for caring about a disgusting beast."

Susie couldn't bear anymore. She spat on Mrs. Jackson's face. "A ruthless executioner like you is a beast!"

Mrs. Jackson raged. She wiped the saliva from her face and turned her head to Mr. Gray, who again immediately understood. He grabbed Susie's hair, pulled her up from the ground, and slapped her mercilessly. Susie's face instantly swollen with red palm prints.
