I have got to say she was very right about that. cats do not talk. Why could she talk? "You are still a cat," I replied.
"If you have any question, got to the king. He lived long enough to understand this world," her reply felt offensively dismissive. I bit my lower lips and glared at her with my hand raised as though I wanted to hit her.
She turned her and looked at me in the eyes then at my hand hanging in the air. "Cats in this world are not simply cats. They have more powers than you can ever imagine. Our life is tied to our master.
"You might hate the idea about cats and you are looking for something to help you justify how crazy the cat idea is but you should remember that I am your cat and I have done a lot. I have almost died a lot of times trying to protect you.
"Do not look down on a cat especially cats in this world no matter how much you hate it."
Did I just get scolded by a cat? I puffed out as I wanted to seriously land my fist on her small head but I held back as I remembered she was not some simple cat that could be bullied her huge form could swallow me whole.
"I am sorry if I offended you," she told me bored before curly up into a sleeping position and closing her eyes to continue sleeping.
I reminded myself not to take it too personally as there was a college student in the body of the cat. She sounded emotional and I tried to understand that she must feel sad, right now.
Imagine getting reincarnated as a cat with your human mind. it would have been frustrating if she could not talk. At least she could talk but she was not human at all and that must be painful.
"I am sorry too," I apologized. I don't even know where it all started but it was our fault although I started the argument.
"Did you see the king?" she asked me without opening her eyes as though she was not talking about anything serious.
"Yes, I did. What happened?"
"The king is a bloodsucker like a human mosquito," she told me seriously.
Mosquito, oh come on. He was everything far from a mosquito. He was like a giant lion in the jungle who ruled the jungle feared by all others.
I had those words of argument but like they say your stomach is not meant for food alone. I swallowed my words into my stomach and buried them there. I was not ready to begin another argument with her.
"I saw him but what do you mean by a mosquito," I had to ask as I found that term mosquito very insulting to a powerful man like himself.
"He sucks human blood to live. E will never die even if he stops but he does so to feel full. I found out before we left and I was very grateful that we only got sent to the prison world and not to be his food."
I froze. What does she mean by he sucks blood? He kills with his teeth. "He kills with his teeth as a way of sucking their blood? Do you mean vampire?" I asked her seriously. That was crazy.
I have heard a few people talk about creatures called vampires who suck blood to survive. I could not believe such stories with the way the girls would blush and giggle when they talk about how handsome those men were.
That had always baffled me. How would you like someone who sucks your blood? Why will you even imagine it with such blushes on your cheeks?
The only thing that I believe about them is their coldness. I shivered as I remembered how I felt when he held my waist and wrist, it was almost ice cold.
The king that rules this world was a vampire and has lived this long with the blood of those around him. Well, that was my conclusion from what my cat said.
I should be more careful than ever in my life, right? If the previous owner of the body wanted to revenge against the king, then he must say that the young man made a very crazy decision.
He accepted the fact that the young man had offended the king and he got punished severely even though he partook of the punishment, he was satisfied.
"I will have to void the king as best as I can from now onward," I told my cat under my breath and escaped to change my clothes.
**********
It was time to leave. I was not sure if I was ready to leave. I was told that by that woman who always comes to knock on the door of my room whenever she has a message to deliver.
My cat told me that when we were going to the prison world, they broke the bond better us as they do to criminals so that we would not be able to communicate with ourselves with others outside the world.
I wanted her to tell me when I would be able to communicate with her but she told me it would take a while or we might never get that chance in our lifetime.
I was baffled by it all. I wondered why they chose to use cats to deliver messages. It would have done them no hard from what I have seen to make telephones and smartphones.
The king had to be the crazy man if the idea was his. It was the craziest idea ever. Why would cats get chosen instead of technology and progress?
That thought has been a burden on my mind and since I could understand not, I gave up thinking about it and chose to focus on surviving.
My favorite sister was the only person I saw when I got downstairs with the only suitcase I chose to go with. "Are you going with only one suitcase?"
I nodded seriously. I did not know what I needed to pack anymore suitcase. I only took my essentials while planning to buy more when I get there.
"You will need more than that, I believe," she told me seriously.
I shook my head although I believed what she was saying. "I want to take only the suitcase."
"Get a few more suitcases filled with clothes, you will have to move into the worker's residence and you don't have clothes there," she reminded.
I did not have any intention of staying longer there. I hated packing things and carrying suitcases. I might not have to handle the carrying personally but I was okay with my suitcase.
