Chapter 40 - Slept for so long

I just wanted to say, I was treated well in this world and it was not in any way inferior to how I was treated back at home. Well, when it comes to material things.

**********

the lunch was nice, it was anti-vegan. I was pleased with the skill of the man named Jeffrey.

"Are you going to use the other room?" I asked my cat when I was done eating.

"Yes, I will," she replied me hastily. I pouted slightly and stood up while the man cleared the empty plates.

"Thanks, Jeffrey," I appreciated as I began walking to my room. I might have slept through the journey but I was exhausted.

"I am glad young master enjoyed the meal," Jeffrey accepted my appreciation.

I nodded without turning as I was seriously craving my bed. Who said you should not lie down immediately after eating? Please, I am tired.

I was asleep before my head touched the pillow. Whatever made me sleep through the journey had a very tiring effect on me.

*********

I was awakened by the soft knock on the door. It was soft but it was continuous. I groaned and tried to use the pillow to cover my ears as I buried my head under it.

"Young master," I heard a voice call out. I would have loved it if the voice spoke in my native language. That would have eased my heart as I was dreaming that I was at home.

"I am awake," I cried out as I threw the pillow away and sat down on the bed. I scratched my head after stretching with a loud groan.

The knock stopped and I glanced at the door as I realized that I moved there not to have fun or for a vacation but to do some serious work or clean my brother's mess.

I got down from the bed and went to the window. I could not believe I slept through for such a long time. I did not eat dinner and I could feel my stomach hurt me to protest.

I walked to the bathroom for a morning routine. When I was done, I was faced with suits and tuxedos of different colors and I did not know what to put on.

My cat has been setting my clothes aside for me and I was very satisfied with her service but she did not do it for me today.

You must be wondering how lazy I have gotten that I cannot even pick my clothes. Well, I have gotten very lazy. My cat will most likely come for me later for being too lazy.

I did not do any exercise. My lifestyle was getting very bad and since I realized it, I straightened my shoulders and stared at my reflection.

It was time I adjust my lifestyle. The earlier I get this done, the earlier I get to return to the capital and return to earth and my family.

I chose a grey suit, brown shoes and the other accessories I did not put too much attention to. When I adjusted my hair in front of the mirror, I was impressed by what I saw.

I could get a job as a stylist and I will do well. The clear eyes and naturally pink pursed lips I saw in the mirror had me nodding my head. This young man was indeed fine.

Fine that I felt threatened. If he was in the same school as me on earth, he will be a rival that I will have to watch for.

The door of the closet opened and my cat walked into the closet. "I chose my clothes without your help," I tried to taunt her with my pride.

"You did well," she told me and walked out of the closet.

"Wait, do you think it is okay for me to wear this ring?" I asked her hastily as I followed her into the room.

She looked at my hand and nodded. "It is okay but unnecessary. We will get the chips in when you get back from work today," she replied sincerely.

"You are not coming with me?" I asked in disbelief was she sending me to be among strange people alone?

"I will remain at home," she replied to me and continued walking towards the door.

"Oh, but . . ." I started but stopped as I did not want to sound like a little grumpy kid.

She nodded before walking out of the room. I followed her and the Jeffrey guy was waiting at the door.

"Good morning, young master," he greeted me with a respectful smile lifting the corners of his lips.

"Good morning, how many hours did I sleep?" I was forced to ask as I could not calculate it on my own, I was yet to understand how time works here.

"You slept for thirty-four hours," the man replied to my greatest astonishment.

I paused with my lips parted. Did he just thirty-four or did he say thirteen hours?

"You don't need to be surprised, young master. It happens that way when you travel such distance in such a short time. You are better now."

I shook my head still confused. I walked to the dining table. The simple breakfast was somehow made to look more appetizing than it truly is because I am not a fan of conventional breakfasts.

"Thank you," I appreciated before sitting down. The table that could accommodate eight people comfortably, had only sitting on it and I could not help but feel lonely and miss home.

I bite into my bread while encouraging myself that there was a way, I could return. I must return. If I was in a coma and all of this was a dream, I will wake up one day, I had to.

The meal that looked very tasty now felt tasteless in my mouth with my thoughts.

"Young Master, the King will be coming sooner than expected. He received information of how the mine has been functioning and he is greatly angered," the man narrated and I could not help but pause with the cup close to my mouth.

"Why? He is king, he should stay in his palace," I muttered as I felt a strong to curse.

"The king never stays in the palace for too long. He travels a lot and that is why he can bring order to our world," the man told me seriously.

I was angry. It was only right that I should be.
