Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 - You

When they returned, classes did not return to normal, while Peter left to run errands for the council. Cresencia was on her own, but Peter gave Cresencia some essential pointers before he left. Things to do and don't, where to go during free time and what to avoid in the cafeteria.

With someone catching all the attention in her stead, Cresencia has more freedom now. So she decided to explore the school deeper. As she wandered, she came to a stop in the school's oldest library. She was thinking about letting Miku gather all the information printed in the books within the museum because it might come in handy in the future.

"We might be able to get fascinating information here, Miku, so help me scan the documents and put it on a different floor within the space's library archives section."

"Yes, master, it will be fun for me to learn too! Reading helps me strengthen my mental power, and it might enable me to raise a level depending on the number of books I'll be able to work on."

The two of them entered silently. The smell of old books lingered strongly in the air. Fewer students were present on this side of the library, and most of them got lost in their separate worlds. She calculated the time they needed to visit this place, and it might take them a month or more to complete the seven floors of knowledge.

"Miku, how much will you gain from this floor?"

"Master, I might gain three levels and four starting above."

"That's great! Let's start the tour."

The bookshelves covered in a transparent glassdoor looked eye-catching, and if you look closely, the books on these shelves had unique serial codes. An automated system controlled everything. Books borrowed by the students would be marked 'in use,' Their places on the shelves would have a red 'out' symbol.

She abruptly stopped to read the guidelines of the library.

These shelves also count the number of days the students will borrow the book. Usually, librarians assigned to the borrowing section will have the ability to chase the student who forgets to return the text at the scheduled time—giving them penalties like community service and becoming a student assistant within the library equivalent to the days they've over-borrowed.

She roamed around, but someone accidentally bumped into her when she was reading the titles of the books in the medical section. Pre-Medicine is a part of the advanced courses anyone can take after finishing the 3rd year of high school, and she felt interested in it.

When Cresencia turned around, she saw an injured young man wearing the same uniform color as hers.

There are different distinctions in the uniforms of the students in each department. The color of their school's name on the bottom of the logo is distinct. These colors change when light reflects on the logo's surface. And it's barely noticeable unless one looks closer, but nobody can deny the number of stars.

Color differences;

Red - Scholars

Blue - Middle Class

Violet - Upper Class

Silver - Science Class

Gold - Elite class

The number of tiny stars placed under the colored logo will represent the section's rankings. Nine is the highest, and the only class section with these stars is Cresencia's class, Elite 1A. Miku hurriedly put a spell on the boy to keep him standing still and prevent Cresencia from getting suspicious gazes.

The stars on his uniform indicated that he is a classmate, and classmates take care of each other. Cresencia dialed the number of the school's clinic. She is asking for assistance from the Red Cross team.

When the team arrived, Cresencia was already standing next to the unconscious boy seated on the floor.

"Was it you who called for us?" The captain of the rescue team asked as he took down notes

"Yes"

"Can you give me the details about the incident-- what happened to him?" He took his mobile phone and started recording

"I was reading the covers of the books here, suddenly he bumped into me from the back, and when I turned over, he collapsed."

"Nothing else? Have you seen anything unusual?"

"No, I hadn't paid attention to what happened when he got here, and I have no idea what happened before he got here-- all I know is that he appeared here weakly, and then he collapsed in front of me."

"You sure?"

"Yeah, my aim is only to help his unconscious self, not investigate his whereabouts. If there's nothing else, I'll go ahead."

"Please leave your contact information, and I might call you-- to give you updates about his condition and possibly ask more questions."

"Okay," Cresencia cooperated.

As they carried him away, she glanced at the wall. She noticed the erratic fluctuations of energy coming from the wall earlier, and so she suspected that there was a hidden passage somewhere. Else she doesn't know how to reason why the boy arrived behind her without making a sound.

"Master, is it possible for mortals to have special gifts?"

"You mean to say people with superpowers might live here?"

"Hmm, master, is it?"

"I'm not sure about it. I haven't read the almanac of life here on earth, remind me to review it later, and we'll find out if they truly exist in this place."

"Yes, master, I'll prepare the book for you."

"Hmm, let's go up and see what's there."

Cresencia walked into the transparent elevator, where she could see everything as it went up. There were also navigation maps on different floors.

Thus, a person could quickly seek where the books are and which route to go. There were also cameras all over the place.

When she arrived on the second floor, she finally encountered the destined one.

Greyish hair with no aura.

Dark eyes stared back at her, and goosebumps appeared all over her body.

Her heart's beating became irregular suddenly, and the surroundings became tense.

It's as if time has passed them, completely unaware of the traffic and froze everyone.

"Miku, why--" Cresencia attempted to move ahead and bypass the person in front, but he caught her hand and held it tight.
