Cresencia paused and stared at the hand on her wrist. The person in front of her was wearing skin-tone colored gloves, which looked very expensive, hinting that the person is not ordinary and may have a hidden status.
Before she could react, he naturally pulled her close and guided her out of the museum. He did not stop pulling her till they reached the back entrance of the building. Cresencia was aware of the situation, and she was thinking about a hundred ways to escape his deathly grip.
But to no avail, his grip did not loosen, and they reached the secret passage safely without anyone noticing.
Then his hand let go of hers.
And he stood with his back facing the entrance, hiding her figure securely.
"I'm sorry, I was too abrupt. Did I scare you?" He asked
"No," Cresencia answered
"Oh good, if you were wondering why I did that, I just don't want you to get involved," he shared.
"Involve me on what?" she was confused with the happenings earlier and even more suspicious when another guy appeared claiming to save her.
"The trouble earlier--"
"Let's talk somewhere else. Do you have your things with you?" Cresencia asked
"Yes, just my phone and wallet. The rest are in the locker since I live here,"
"Let's go and eat something, my treat," she offered
They arrived at her brother's restaurant, and the staff immediately arranged for a room. They were dumbfounded when they saw her with a new boy. And everyone was speculating about his identity, but they found nothing informative.
"Should we tell the second master about this?" Employee 1
"Manager Mo, the eldest lady, insisted on swiping her card. She paid for their meal" Employee 2 reported
"Did anything else happen?" Manager Mo asked
"None, sir. They only talked about school stuff-- and nothing else. He is just a friend of the eldest lady" Employee 3 cautiously joined the discussion and retold what she saw and observed while serving them.
"No need. Let's not tell the second master without evidence. Just pay attention to them. Before making a mistake and angering the eldest lady, we must observe first," Manager Mo said and dispatched the staff.
Within the room, delicious snacks served in batches looked appetizing. Cresencia was still observing the person in front of her. Unsure if the guy speaks the truth. One, he doesn't have an aura. Second, she can only see his emotions thinly. Third, she has an uncertain feeling while facing him. And nothing seemed to help her identify the credibility of the person.
When she took off her mask, it was too blinding that it almost made him close his eyes. He's a guy whose never seen the horizons of having a woman up close. He grew up with difficulties at home which turned him into a transparent character. But his achievements are enough to testify to his hidden brilliance.
"Master, his aura hasn't changed-- is this still normal?" Miku noticed
"I don't know. Do you think his body cells have anomalies?"
She ate egg pies and stared at him more.
He bowed his head and blushed fiercely.
"Can you tell me about the matters at hand?"
"Oh, that one, well, I'm not sure if you'd believe me, but our school have secrets that everyone never speaks of-- it's kinda hard for me too, to tell about the issues at hand, but I want you to be aware, so it won't drive you crazy like the previous transferees."
"There are previous transferees who were driven mad by the issues?"
"Sort of-- so let me start from where everything started.
It was one of the most memorable days in the intramurals week. One of the professors attending the big event was missing for a few hours. They thought he was too busy backstage, preparing for the program and comforting the guests, or maybe he forgot to make an appearance.
But that wasn't the case when each department under him looked for his whereabouts.
The leaders all met in his office, but it was as quiet as November. The room was neat like there hadn't been anyone in attendance for long. The president himself contacted his phone, yet it was out of coverage area.
Students close to him said he might be pranking everyone.
But the bloody ink littered the stairs and revealed something serious had happened. Beyond the doubts, they continued with the event and sent more teams to investigate the teacher's disappearance. There were traces of evidence inside the museum of books, but there were only walls and no doors.
How scary will the results be?
A month passed since then, but no one solved the mystery behind his death, and the imperial family closed the records themselves. As the year blurred, more teachers fell on the same day, all leading to the library, and the clues were tough to find.
But then, a year earlier, the staff from other departments were also goin' missing. Private investigators and even the government teamed up to solve the case, yet it left them helpless.
Three months ago, the most current event occurred when transferees said they witnessed something unnatural, but no one can prove it.
They became crazy.
Later, they committed suicide in the adjacent building near the library, all with the same methods and positions of dying.
By then, the members of the institution who received threats became tongue-tied.
And so we are"
"Deaths? Are you sure they died?"
"I don't know, too, no one can prove that those missing personas still exist in this world, and no one has truly seen their unwanted bodies after the crime."
"The boy earlier, what's his deal?"
"That was prince Stephen III, one of the princes in our school, I don't know how much involved he is with the crimes, but he was always after every wrong event since he joined the school."
"We might as well avoid him and keep everything a secret. Thank you so much for telling me about these secrets today."
"You're welcome, but stay away from these people on the list as much as possible. I believe you belong to the same department as them" he gave Cresencia a list.
"Great, we've been talking for a long time now, and I still don't know your name."
