"Where's my daughter?" tears of joy filled the woman's eyes
"Doctor-- doctor tell me, how's my daughter?" the woman trembled, waiting for the doctor's answer
The skies outside shone brightly. Children played happily in the hospital's garden. While hurried footsteps rumbled through the silent VIP station. The young man who was staring by the glass wall was alerted. And so, he avoided everyone and shielded his face from the crowd.
But he saw a familiar face, a woman dressed in royal blue, walking towards her daughter's ward with the attending doctor. Her exuding charisma and gentle elegance made it unbearable for ordinary people to look away. She was born noble, and the way she carried herself made it undeniably powerful.
"What is aunt doing here?" the young man murmured to himself
"Madam Qin, your daughter has been recovering well. It was also her fortune that her body's response with the treatment continued to gain good results," the doctor explained
"Will there be any sequelae when she wakes up?" her worried expression coupled with her frown made everyone in the room sweat coldly
This gentle madam was not so gentle at all. She was born in a military district trained as a soldier like every family member. The fall of her clan might be a harrowing remembrance of her past, but she will never bow to anyone. A person who has seen the big waves of life will have an aura of vicissitudes that no one can match.
"There probably won't be any sequelae, madam you worry too much."
The good results showed to her eased the thorn in her heart. Her only daughter Cresencia, who got into an accident, was already enough to make her blood rise unstably. When her eyes roamed, it fell on the little boy snuggled on the couch. She smiled, touched his son's head, and ordered a servant to drape his sleeping figure.
She laid her bag down and moved towards her daughter's bed. She reached to touch her hand and could not stop tearing up. Her eldest child was a son, followed by the second eldest, who's also a son, a miscarriage right on the third time, and finally a blessed daughter.
It was heartbreaking when the couple heard how impossible it was to conceive after a miscarriage. But there came a time when science proved that having a daughter was a miracle. Her daughter came into this world on a joyous occasion.
Their family conditions improved. The companies under them rose to the top, and the couple's hard work paid off. Cresencia's brothers were admitted to the number one school and gained their foothold. Everything followed later, and the best part was that the wife gave birth to two menopausal babies safely.
A middle-aged man in casual clothes tapped their mother's shoulder. She wiped the tears on her face and smiled as she looked at her husband.
"I've already consulted the director, and he said it is safe to transfer Cresencia back home. It will be more convenient for her to recuperate near us, and we can take care of her 24/7"
"I've also thought about that earlier. Avelino won't run back and forth to watch his sister," Julia answered worriedly.
Their son has been studying at night to keep up with his studies online, and by morning he's in the hospital all day long, waiting for his sister.
"Mom and dad are coming home since they caught the news of her accident."
"Oh, but who told them?" Julia asked
"I think, Emilio might have, a slip of his tongue-- you know you can't guard secrets within his mouth."
"Let's take care of things when we go home-- Bernardo, do you also think we're older and older every day? Our children-- the eldest and the second might have no plans on getting married. Should we arrange a blind date for them?"
Bernardo chuckled as he looked at his cute wife.
"They're still young. Just let the children live a few more years of single-blessedness."
"I'm just worried, Cresencia is approaching adulthood, and she still has no sisters to learn from."
"What are you worried about, sweetheart? Our children were all born capable and easy to adapt. Cresencia is no different--"
"But learning about relationships is still different! Our time and hers are completely incompatible. What we can do at best is to give her plenty of advice--"
"You worry too much, she's still a child in my eyes, don't rush her-- look, she's still recuperating, and we should not mention things such as marriage to her lest we frighten the child."
"If she could have a boyfriend, that would be a great source of protection--"
"Wife, just say-- let's hire more bodyguards!"
"What do you do with so many bodyguards? Scare people away? How will she have friends?"
"Well, did we not train college agents? Why not send them?"
"And what-- put our daughter into more danger by being with them? Then soon let her enter the agency? Would you like to see her ruin a normal life?"
"Wife, our children, were never normal at all; the eldest was good in business at a young age, the second was good in technology, the fourth child is a prodigy, and the fifth child is a martial arts genius. And our only daughter is an all-rounder!" He comforted his wife
"But she is our only daughter, the pearl in the palm of our hands. I can't bear to see her get hurt or put herself in danger. Husband-- she almost died" Julia started to tear up again.
"Hush, my love, let's just wait till she wakes up, so she can decide on her own"
"Right, her happiness and freedom matter the most."
The couple watched their children in the room and soon processed their daughter's transfer papers. They contacted a few top doctors who would work with them for the time being. And lessen the anxiety brewing in their hearts.
Cresencia heard everything they said. Unbeknownst to them, she was awake all the time. She also felt relieved when they mentioned that her happiness and freedom have no restrictions. And an idea came into her mind.
"A koi's luck!"
