There was no way that she could do this—

He crossed the door of his room and Jade's bedroom was only 10 steps away.

She was going to get caught. If anyone, especially the Alpha, caught her with so many instruments, it was only a matter of time before it would all click.

Jade looked down at everything. The bag was not going to fit everything.

She needed time—

His hand went on the doorknob—

She stood up and discarded everything in front of her. The instincts of flight or fight kicked in.

Jade heard it twist—

Without thinking twice, Jade lifted the hem of the dress over her head when she heard a sharp intake of breath.

The door closed and she could not sense the presence of the Alpha inside the room but could tell that he was on the other side of the door.

"Jade, forgive me," he practically choked out the word, "I should not have entered your room without receiving a verbal reply from you."
