Scurrying around, Kai ran as fast as he could back in the manor upon hearing Helena and James's conspiracy about being the ones who schemed Valerie's disappearance.
It didn't seem like the situation could have just ended with her disappearance. Their aim was Valerie's death so that Helena could assume the position and become the duchess with her marrying James.
Valerie needed to know this fact and, if possible, she shouldn't interact with these people too much.
Kai hurried towards Valerie's room and knocked on her door. He figured out that she was still sleeping, so he pushed the door open without waiting for a reply.
Crouching down with his knees on the ground, Kai placed his hand on Valerie's right arm and nudged her gently, "Valerie, you need to wake up. I have something to tell you!"
