After leaving through the back door he had some things he needed to settle in his mind "should I stay in Hamellio?"
He pondered this and thought that the disadvantages greatly out weighted the advantages.
He knows that his parents have this place in their pocket and almost everyone knew him by name and face ,so if he was trying to find a job he would pretty much just get laughed at.
The next thing on his mind was, "where do I go if I can't stay in Hamellio?"He laughed a bit at his lack of options. Everyone in this world knows that there are 7 city's one for each race and then a mixed race city. He knows that if he wants to have a home again his best bet is the outskirts of Dekkalo, the mixed race city.
He couldn't settle in the main city because of the super high taxes it came with when living in the city. Because this world is largely separated by race, people from the other six cities come to Dekkalo very frequently; most traders coming to Dekkalo come at least 4 times a year.
Alex had only ever been there twice when he was young and liked the ruins because he thought being a ruin hunter was the coolest job and where else would you go to sell and buy items when you're also the son of the 3rd most wealthy noble in Hamellio.
He knew the way to every city. It was practically drilled in his head by his teachers and he knew that he would have a long walk ahead of him. Nevertheless he set out on his adventure to the outskirts of Dekkalo.
He was just now getting to the gate when he was recognized and praised by some guards. He was told that his "new natural talents'' are wonderful and that they all wished they could end up becoming natural blacksmiths.
Remembering his dad's lie about him having blacksmithing talents like his mother he thought of a clever way of getting out of the city.
" Yeah, I figured the best way I could train my talents were to go train with the dwarves up in Cortoa ." One of the guards said "Of course and I imagine you will be sending the bill to your parents?"
Alex thought about this for a moment and said with a smile " yes, yes I would." He found it funny that he could still do this knowing that it wouldn't be long until his death was faked and most of the residents of Hamellio would be told that he died trying to master his natural talents.
With that he has successfully left Hamellio with a sword, a shield , an axe and 50 gold in a backpack.
With that Alex had set off on his adventure. He was walking on the road because he figured hitching a ride would be cheaper than buying a ride. A few hours went by and he saw a horse drawn carriage that looked like it belonged to a trader.
He smiled to himself and he politely asked for a ride after hailing him down. The trader was human and being a trader knew who he was talking to.
He asked him "Are you Alexander, the son of Finn goodfreed and Logan goodfreed?" Alex replied quickly with "in the flesh" and he chuckled a bit until he asked the trader " could you do me a favor and take me to Dekkalo the mixed race city" the trader who thought himself fortunate to find such a wealthy person asking for a ride.
He stuttered a bit and said " y- y- yes sir I was just heading there myself." Alex smiled to himself thinking "I've racked up quite the bill for my parents haha" he took a little joy in knowing that his parents got the bill for both the exit fee and now whatever this guy wanted to charge .
He asked for the guy's name and the trader responded with " Henry sir" a few hours went by and Alex and Henry made it, safe and sound. Alex told Henry
" when you go back to my parents to collect your money, if you want any money tell them you took me to Cortoa " the trader was startled by this as he didn't know what happened between the kid and his parents.
By this time the mother and father of Alex were already coming up with ways to make it seem like Alex died on his way to Cortoa from and it would make the story more believable if the guy went along with it.
Alex thought about it. He smiled knowing the nice trader would get a great deal of hush money and he wished the trader well as he did not seem like that much of a bad person.
