Chapter 8 - C8 - At The Gate of Lakron

Tarnak a few moments later let his anger out of himself, sent the whore back to the brothel.

"Just get into my hands, I will tear you apart!" He angrily talked to the air.

The following day Tarnak stood before Mivian as a real soldier without any thought about what happened yesterday.

"Captain Tarnak, the head of the 15th Scouting Squad has a salute to General Mivian."

"Captain Woran, the head of the 18th Scouting Squad has a salute to General Mivian."

Both captains of the scouting squads the Lord mentioned showed up before Mivian.

After clearing his throat, Mivian spoke in as serious was as was the death itself.

"Soldiers. The Lord entrusted me with an important task. I won't accept any failure!"

The atmosphere was stifling around them.

"Our objective is to capture an unknown aura user who mostly killed the whole 21st scouting squad, so prepare yourself well. You will go to Lakron and investigate who could be that mysterious aura user." Told them with a stiff tone, and after a few steps, he added some words to his brief. "Oh, and don't kill that person if you want to keep your life for an extended amount of time."

Mivian walked away as it would be natural for him. Both captains sighed loudly when they saw his leave.

"Haaaa ... I hate that man." Tarnak sighed.

"You are not alone ..." Woran just agreed with Tarnak.

"So, shall we work together, or ...?" Tarnak asked him a few seconds later.

"I prefer working with my people, but ... just this once, I make an exception."

They did a friendly handshake and nodded.

"15TH SCOUTING SQUAD! GATHERING AT 6 TOMORROW MORNING!"

"18TH SCOUTING SQUAD! GATHERING AT 6 TOMORROW MORNING!"

They shouted to their lungs out of their body at the same time.

"Then tomorrow." Tarnak gestured and left.

Both captains left the gathering square. The next day came earlier than they imagined. Both squads hastily left the capital, 10-10 people per squad in the morning.

'This is the feeling of being alive ...' Lyanna looked at her palm, wondering how she lived to this day.

Her hands grasped into a fist and raised her eyes to peek at the fainted outlines of a city. Controlling and suppressing her aura as she approached the city of Lakron.

5 years ago, a messenger arrived at the castle, with a full written scroll of paper. When the seal broke on it by him and started to read it, his breathing became somehow painful.

"Alert the West Legion to settle down the riot in Lakron, but without spitting blood. I care the people even if they hate me ..." He sighed painfully.

"As you wish, my king." The messenger bowed and left.

As Lyanna recalled those moments, she woke from her daze and unexpectedly stood before the gate of the city.

"Halt!" A guard at the gate stopped the walking girl. "Pay the entrance fee, 7 silver coins! Or you won't step into the city, little girl."

"Look at her, do you think she has anything?" The other guard who was sitting on the right side of the gate pointed his spear at the girl.

Lyanna just stood there, without batting an eye.

"Hey, do you hear me?" The guard who talked first walked before her. "You little beggar, you can call yourself lucky. If you keep me company for an hour, I will let you go inside the city."

He looked at the girl a little more, and someone found her attractive, and using his status, he wanted to get an advantage over her. A creepy smile appeared on his face as his thought dug deeper into his dirty fantasy.

"One life." Lyanna said with a cold voice.

The guard's eyes widened a little as they heard the girl.

"What did you just say, beggar?" The guard who sat before stood up and walked next to the other guard.

"Is it not a generous offer enough? What about two life?" Lyanna asked without batting an eye.

"Who do you think you are?!" Both guards pointed their spears at her chest in a moment.

"No wonder ... as the guards as the city, it's all the same." Lyanna told while she closed her eyes.

"You, you wanna still playing with her?" The guard asked the other.

"Sure! Did you see anywhere this kind of beautiful face not in the city, but the region?"

"Then just cripple her limbs and you will have an easy time!"

Both guards agreed as they pointed the spears in their grasp to the girl's thigh and shoulder, lightly poking the clothes on her.

Lyanna slowly opened her eyes, and little sparks appeared in it. With a domineering but gentle voice, some words left her mouth.

"My offer was too generous."
