Alester:
Phiona's demeanor relaxed. At least she looked like she had. The natural smile she always wore returned to her face, and her shoulders seemed less tense, but she still fidgeted with the pendant around her neck. It seemed like a new habit and with how spaced out she seemed; he wasn't sure she realized she was doing it.
"Is that new?" Alester gestured towards her necklace.
It took Phiona a few seconds to comprehend what he was saying, but soon enough, she looked down to realize she had been fiddling with her necklace. She dropped her hands instantly, wiping them on the sides of her clothes.
"My Father gave it to me before your Birthday Ball."
She had said the phrase so seriously that he couldn't help but notice how ridiculous it sounded. His lips twitched as he tried to hold back laughter.
"Please." Alester groaned. "Never call it that again."
Phiona caught on and let out a chuckle, "Noted."
