Chapter 15 - Knowing What Happened in the Past

Worried that Bela would return to the room, Alex stepped barefoot towards the table where there were now several drinks with different variations, even mineral water.

What Alex chose was an isotonic drink that looked still cold, according to him it was able to quench the thirst that hit his throat.

Turning the bottle cap, as soon as he opened it he took a slow sip. After his thirst was satisfied, he turned around and looked at Nada who was now at the balcony door.

"What?" he asked, quietly. Only the movement of his lips could be seen, but he was sure the woman who was some distance in front of him understood what he was saying.

Nada glanced left and right like she was spying on something.

Alex shrugged, took the bottle in his hand, and stepped back towards Nada who took a step back.

"Why? Did you see something?"

"No, I didn't see anyone. It's just..."

"Why? If you want to speak, at least in a clear and complete voice, don't delay because I don't understand."

Alex sat back down on the floor covered in the little fluffy rug that Nada had probably picked up from the room and put it on the balcony. He put the bottle he was holding on to the floor, then lowered the bag from his back.

"A few days ago I was passing behind your house, but I don't think it's as dirty as it is now," said Alex who before getting to the point opened a light initial conversation.

Nada exhaled when she heard what Alex said. "Yeah, I know that. It hasn't been a week since I've been here, but things have changed including the backyard. Not only did you notice, but I did too."

"What do you mean? Changed?" asked Alex with raised eyebrows, feeling strange about Nada's words.

Nada nodded doubtfully. "I see, I don't know how I feel... but this house is really weird."

Alex agrees when Nada says that the house the woman currently resides in looks 'strange'. At first, he thought it was normal, even like a house in general. But when Olivia told the truth, it was really scary.

"Can we try sitting in your room instead? By the way, look up at the sky. The clouds are getting thicker and it looks like it's going to rain. If we don't go into your room, we might get rained on."

Nada sighed, somehow for the umpteenth time. "I can't, but if you want to come in without me, of course, you can. And don't forget to get me an umbrella and a raincoat, it's in the drawer." She replied.

"If there were other people besides you, 'they' wouldn't be acting weird, right?"

"Who said that? Remember when you came into my room to get your cell phone? They kept showing up."

"Then you want to be killed in the cold because of the rain, is it better like that?"

Nada likes rain, but if it rains on the balcony of her room, it sounds weird. "So what will you do?"

"Do it together, let's go to your room. Before that..." Alex ended the conversation, then opened the bag he was carrying. Taking the documentation book Olivia gave him, his mother told him everything was full of facts.

Nada noticed what Alex was doing, she saw the man take out an ancient-looking book. Looks like an ancient book that looks… I don't know.

"What's that?" asked Nada, both confused and curious about what Alex wanted to say next.

Alex looked into Nada's eyes very seriously, then sighed. "Don't be surprised by what I say, okay?"

"Of course, I was just wondering what you had to say. And what book was it?" asked Nada, she insisted on wanting to know.

Alex took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. "This is a book containing all the victims in this house since that incident. I was told by my mother, everything is documented in this book," he said as he handed the book in his hand to the woman in front of him.

Nada blinked her eyes repeatedly, then reached for the book that was given to her. "What do you mean in your sentence that says 'the book containing all the victims in this house since that incident'?" Her brows furrowed, looking at Alex in front of her seriously. She wanted to know what happened so that she could understand the situation.

"This house and right in the bedroom where you live, Nada. This is the most terrible part,"

"Tell me more clearly, Alex. Don't just say it."

Alex didn't have the heart because the fact that he was about to reveal made Nada's mind wander. He leaned closer to her to whisper something. "There have been many murder victims in this room, Nada. The main victims are women, just like you. She was dragged into the mirror, and in an instant... she disappeared and the police chose to close the case because there was no evidence and no suspects."

"You mean...? Murder committed by 'them'?"

"Yes, the woman was the first victim. In the book you are holding, there are many biographies of the victims, including the woman I was referring to."

"In the year of?"

"I don't know, I haven't seen it. So we should research together later."

Nada nodded her head, feeling they should also do some research. "Well."

Just as they wanted to discuss further, suddenly some of the skin on their bodies was exposed to water droplets. Yes, it started raining and made Nada panic, she even immediately got up from her seat and was followed by Alex who helped.

They quickly entered the room, and Alex lifted the little fluffy rug that had been used as their seat.

Inevitably, Nada closed the balcony door to prevent water from entering her room. She sighed slowly, feeling uneasy about what would happen next.

Alex looked at Nada worriedly, he arranged the things in his hands on the floor. Starting from the furry carpet, continued with the bag which was also placed there. He chose a position in the corner of the room so that Nada wouldn't think too much. "Here," he whispered, somehow he was still afraid of his whereabouts being found out by Bela.

"B-but…."

"It's fine, even if 'they' know, they can never bother you."

Nada finally gave in and followed Alex's words to approach the man.

Nada sat right next to Alex. Her eyes stared warily into each mirror. And sure enough, there was one creature who was staring at her with a wide grin full of wounds on her face.

Creepy, Nada prefers to turn her face so as not to look at each other. "They're watching me, they're watching us."

One of the mirrors that Alex thought of, a long mirror that can reflect the whole body when you look in the mirror there, he believes the glass is the cause.

"I'll help get the mirror out of your room later."
