"NADA!"
"Who are you talking to?!"
Bela's scream in a fairly loud voice of course entered Nada's ears because it sounded very scary. Making the woman who was sitting in the corner of the room bend her legs and hug her.
Who is not afraid of having a cruel stepmother? Yes, Nada fear, at some point in time.
Nada looked at Bela who had entered her bedroom with a glint of fear in her eyes, even she swallowed nervously at her mother's sharp gaze. "I-I was just thinking, why isn't dad home yet?"
Hearing Nada's answer, Bela raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Maybe your dad came home late, or maybe there's extra work."
Even though Bela's character was harsh, even like someone who didn't deserve to be called a mother, there were times when her voice softened with a sweet gaze.
Bela loves Nada's father very much. However, for some reason, Bela doesn't like Nada.
Nada only enjoyed this calm for a moment, she didn't know what to say in response to what Bela said. She repeatedly looked around, in various directions as long as her gaze did not collide with her mother.
"I would--"
Bela's words stopped when she heard the sound of splashing water from the bathroom. "Your sink broke again?" Bela asked, she delayed leaving Nada's room.
In her heart, Nada had cursed Alex who might be washing her hands or even something else she didn't know.
'Shit, if I was currently facing Alex, I'd be punching him right now.' Inner tone.
"Perhaps, I'm not a professional household appliance technician, mom. Can you call a qualified technician to fix my broken sink?"
"No need, don't waste money on small things. If you don't want your bathroom to be flooded, clean it from now on."
After saying that, Bela immediately turned around and left Nada's bedroom feeling like she didn't want to waste money on something useless.
In one breath, she gets up from her seat. Nada is now walking towards the bathroom door feeling annoyed, she doesn't even realize that the path she is taking is too close to the mirror which she should avoid.
And...
"I caught you."
At that moment, Nada stopped her steps while widening her eyes. She felt a cold hand touch her skin. It was... the cold hand she felt when she first learned that a supernatural strangeness had entered her life.
Cold sweat immediately flowed, her blood rippled, her heartbeat was pumping fast.
"Ow it hurts, let go of my hand."
Nada was pulled quite firmly, and she fell until her buttocks landed on the floor. Her eyes closed reflexively to groan in pain.
Before she could open her eyes, Nada thought the hem of her shirt had accidentally hit a nail that could have pulled her down. However, she again remembered how the touch feeling from that hand was very familiar and had touched her.
After trying hard not to think negatively, suddenly her sense of smell smelled quite pungent.
"It's like a very suspicious smell of blood."
'Am I hurt?' Because she was afraid to open her eyes, she still tried to think positively. But then again, she didn't feel any pain all over her body if she was hit by something scratching that made blood ooze out of her body.
"Open your eyes, you're fine. I just wanted to take you for a walk while those ugly creepy creatures are busy."
That voice, it wouldn't be wrong if Nada recognized the voice she was currently hearing entering her senses of hearing. With fear and a slightly trembling body, Nada finally managed to open her eyes even though she couldn't stop the negative thoughts that were running through her head at the moment. She could already guess what and who was in front of her.
Cold sweat began to drip from her temples, a sign that she was now feeling nervous, afraid, and also worried about what would happen next.
Her eyes opened, and she was immediately greeted by the face of a woman who had haunted her in every mirror and asked for help on things she didn't understand.
As she saw just a moment ago, the woman she saw had her limbs snatched away by that 'creature', now it was clear that her limbs were incomplete. Blood splattered on every inch of her body. Her face looks terrible, very scary.
"I want to scream right now if I can," Nada spoke in a voice that was barely audible because it was too low and seemed to be stuck at the end of her throat.
The woman smiled, maybe she thought it was a sweet smile, but according to Nada, it was the most horrible smile she had ever seen in her life. "Let me and the other victims become targets of creatures that thirst for human flesh, I will help you."
Before Nada could speak, she had been helped to her feet by the woman to go to the other side, which was darker than where they were. She said the creature would not be able to see into such a dark place, a place where there was absolutely no light.
Nada felt that now it was okay to say what she felt even though her body was shaking violently. Hey, just imagine at this time she was faced with a figure with a terrible face. Ordinary humans who weren't used to seeing this, it was certain, might fall unconscious, or worse be traumatized.
"If you want to help me, why are you dragging me into your mirror world that I don't want to step on at all?" Even though it felt safe to speak at this point, it was undeniable that she kept her voice low and that her fear could allow the creatures negotiating to capture her to hear and know that she was already in their area.
The woman even reached out to her, of course, this made Nada confused.
"What's wrong? Why are you sticking your hand out to me instead?"
"Introducing you."
"My name is Nada, and you? You look like a Dutch in your beautiful dress, unfortunately, your dress looks broken."
"Yeah, it's just as broken as my face which is now unpretentious. Sometimes, I mean to be mean to you to take your flawless skin for me, but I'm not that cruel, I want to end all of this even though it's hard. By the way, my name is Jade."
Nada was surprised to hear what Jade had to say about her horrifying cruel intentions, but she understood that this terrifying woman before her wanted to find a way out for her. So should she be afraid or grateful?
"So how do I get out of this curse-like thing to me?" Nada asked expectantly to Jade who was currently looking at her with one of her eyeballs that seemed to be dangling.
Jade shook her head slowly, smiling lopsidedly. "It is my goal to help you because you can never escape the curse unless you can destroy the foundation they have built all along."
Nada racked her brain over and over again, and she realized that she was currently in a dangerous situation.
