Chapter 052 A curse of a lifetime

Two gorgeous people walked inside an eastern restaurant and quietly had dinner. The two did not talk as they enjoy the meal. After eating their meal, Arthur sits calmly and observes the woman before him. All he knew about the woman is that she was born in a small forest village.
But from the way he sees it, the woman is not that simple. She could actually have a nice dinner with him in a restaurant and her eating habit is calm and collected.
Jisoo sees that the guy is just observing her and is saying nothing, so she frowned and felt a bit uncomfortable. She looks at the bright sky and then looks at the man before her.
"What do you want, Mr. Tang…?" she asked with a frown.
The expression on the woman truly made Arthur feel a bit pleased. He feels like he could watch her face forever. She is not only beautiful but her face is rich with expressions and emotions.
A slight smile appears on his handsome face.
"What are you smiling at?" an annoyed Sung Jisoo blurted as she slightly glares at the man.
"Umm… Sorry about that…" Arthur said but the expression on his face seems to disagree with his words.
How could someone who is sorry about something smile like that?
Although a bit annoyed Jisoo also feels interested in the handsome guy. It's not that she has not seen anyone as handsome as he is, but there is a strange connection deep within her when looking at the man.
"Miss Sung, I heard that you are able to finally cure my aunt, so I wanted to ask for your help…" he said with a smile.
Sung Jisoo's brow raised then looks at the man before her. She could see the sincerity in his eyes which only means that he is sincere with his words.
She folded her arms which made her chest bulge further and this quickly attracted the eyes of Arthur.
When he noticed her looking straight into his eyes, he blushed for a bit and reluctantly diverted his eyes.
"Tell me, what you want?" she asks with a frown.
"It's my grandfather…" he said then slowly related the story.
Many years ago, there are three young men who became friends while serving their country. The three became inseparable and could be considered as more than blood brothers.
The connection between them is far too great that they are willing to sacrifice their own lives just to save each other from harm.
After their military duty, the three decided to have a trip to a secluded beach just to enjoy themselves after their service to the country.
At that time, they noticed something washed up to the shore.
That object looks like a small chest. Upon opening it, they discovered that the chest actually contains antique treasures. Gold coins, trinkets, and jewelry, that is what they have seen inside.
Feeling a bit worried and at the same time excited, the three decided to hide the treasure and then come back and divide it amongst themselves.
Arthur Tang's grandfather is not a commoner and was born in a rich family. But he hides this from his friends because he did not want them to feel awkward toward him.
That is why he is not that elated but just acted excited to show it to his friends.
According to his estimate, the treasure amounted to just around hundreds of million which is not that much for him.
And so time went by and Arthur's grandfather soon returns to the military forgetting the treasure that the three of them had hidden. That was until one day when he was already promoted to a colonel, he heard some news about his two best friends.
One of them actually died, and the suspect is his other friend who is now at large.
He also discovered that the treasure is now gone. It seems that the two of them took them. But he did not care about that, money is not his concern but the truth of what has happened.
Because he feels conflicted about entering such a case, which is between his friend and his country, he decides to not intervene.
That friend of his is named Kiwan Lu.
In secret, he already knew that Kiwan Lu did kill their friend because of the treasure. Kiwan Lu was involved in gambling and became addicted to it.
He has gotten the treasure and became rich, but soon got into trouble once again.
Arthur's grandfather, Bernard Tang, did not intervene anymore and just watch on the sidelines. He wanted to avenge his friend's death but he also did not want to taint his hand with the blood of his friend. He feels conflicted and soon drowns himself in military affairs.
Two years ago…
Arthur has discovered someone entering their ancestral home, he quickly takes action and went to that place.
At that time, Bernard is already a retired high-ranking military officer. He is also at that place and is currently confronting his friend who has lost his path.
That friend of his is now a disheveled old man with a limp on his feet. One could tell that his feet were actually broken by someone and had not been properly healed.
Kiwan Lu took a jade in the shape of a dragon from the ancestral home of the Tang family.

Then his face distorted while looking at the jade dragon statue.
"I will never forgive you!" he suddenly added.
"Humph! You killed our brother! But I turned a blind eye to that because you are also my brother! The day you kill… Old Jin… Is the day I never treated you as a brother anymore…" Bernard Tang said with a sad tone.
Arthur saw this and did not say anything.
"Hehehe… Hahaha… It was all, your fault! You're rich so don't know the struggle of us poor!" Kiwan Lu laughed maniacally.
"Don't blame me for your actions… You are the one who gambled and lost everything. You even lost the life of old Jin and yet you try to push the blame on me? Coward!"
Upon hearing the words of his friend and the insult, the eyes of Kiwan Lu turned dim. Then with an ugly expression on his face, he suddenly grabs something on his back.
The hidden guard saw that the beggar-looking man actually has an old pistol in his hand and has suddenly grabbed it from his back.
Without hesitation, the guard shoots.
Bang!
The old beggar, Kiwan Lu, saw the blood on his chest and let go of the pistol in his hand.
As he slumps on the ground, Old Bernard Tang quickly rushed beside him.
"Hehe… I… I wanted to kill… your grandchild… to make you suffer as I did… But… I guess you are still a… cunning fox… But don't think that I… have… lost…" blood began to come out of his mouth while looking at Bernard Tang with a sneer.
Then he looks at the jade statue in his hand with his blood on its surface.
"I… Kiwan Lu… cursed you… Benard Tang to die… a slow and painful death…" he said before he breathe his last.
No one mind what the old beggar has said at that time. Barnard Tang even gave his old friend a decent funeral service.
A week later…
Bernard Tang suddenly fell ill and everyone discovered that his illness is very mysterious. No doctors modern or ancient could discover the source.
Even those masters in internal force were called and became helpless to his condition.
And that happened two years ago…
After telling the story, Jisoo looks at the handsome young man with emotion in his eyes.
She feels a bit interested to see the handsome guy have tears in his eyes while telling the story.

Jisoo looks at him and then at the teacup in her hand.

"I can give you anything…" Arthur said as a serious expression appears on his face.
"Anything I wanted?" she asked while playing with the cup.
"Yes, anything you wanted… There are some things that I might not be able to give you. But I Arthur Tang promises to do my best to fulfill your wishes…" he said with a serious expression on his handsome face.
If anyone who knew him would hear Arthur at this time, they would be shocked beyond compare.
This is because, they knew that his words are very precious, and his promises are something he would always fulfill by any means necessary.
That is why many people would do anything they can just to get that precious promise from Arthur. And his ways and ability are nothing to neither scoff at nor compare.
She watches his serious expression and a smile appears on her beautiful face.
When Arthur saw her smile, he could not help but feel awed at her beauty and grace. He is now sure that he likes this woman and is very interested to know more about her.
In fact, the story and the time he asked for lunch is only his excuse just to be with her. Although he is also hoping that she would have a chance to see his grandfather, he is not that hopeful as many doctors and masters have looked at the condition of his grandfather and all of them failed.
