Chapter 055 A curse of a lifetime 4
…
After going out of the hospital Jisoo and Arthur are now inside a café sitting together while looking at each other.
She did not feel awkward while he enjoys looking at her beautiful face.
He did not know why but he truly likes watching her. The more time he spends with her the more his heart yearns for her presence.
Suddenly he shook his head as if trying to wake himself up from a dream.
Seeing the action of the young man, Jisoo showed a smile and then turns her head to take a sip of her tea.
"What you said back there… My grandfather only has 2 weeks to live… Is it okay for… uncle to…"
"It's fine… But I need at least two days… That I am confident to heal your grandfather…" she said with a smile.
However, from the looks of it, she needed a lot of Reiki to be able to do that. She could only lament on this Reiki-depleted planet.
"Umm… Can you take me where that thing that the man tried to steal from your family…?" she asked all of a sudden.
"What do you mean? The jade statue?" he asked with a confused tone.
"Yes…"
"Okay, we'll go there… It's actually in a village where my grandfather was born." He said.
The two finished their business in the café and Arthur drove to their ancestral home.
Their ancestral home is in a small village.
As the two arrive, Jisoo could tell that the village has been developed recently due to the buildings still looking good and new. Plus the road to the village was paved with asphalt and the smell of the fresh air could be felt in the air.
"This is a nice place…" she commented.
Arthur became a good host as he introduced the land and the places as the car traveled.
Soon they stopped in a large manor.
"Mr. Tang, how have you been!" a man who seems to just come from farming greeted.
"Ah, yes… I'm doing well! How about you, how's your child now?" Arthur greeted back.
"Ah, he's been really good. He is now going to school…" he said with a happy smile on his face as he waves his hand goodbye.
This scene happens a couple of times as people would greet Arthur casually and with a friendly wave. Some young women would even throw a flirtatious glance at him and would giggle when he nods at them.
For some reason, this annoyed Jisoo a bit. She did not know why but she felt a bit annoyed when those women flirt with him.
"No… This is not jealousy, right?" she thought but then tried to shake it off by laughing at herself awkwardly.
She quickly opens the door and walks out of the car.
As soon as she did, it was like the sun suddenly shines through the world as many people seem to have been blinded by her aura.
The young men who saw her could not help but almost have their jaws dropped on the ground while looking at the goddess-like beauty of the young woman.
"Wow… Mr. Tang has a very pretty girlfriend… Sigh, he is really too lucky." Someone commented on the side.
"A handsome man deserves a fairy-like woman…" someone added.
"You mean… fiery… Hiss…" someone commented naughtily while forming his hand into a claw and scratching the air.
This comment made everyone around him laugh.
When Jisoo heard this, she turns her gaze at them and then showed her beautiful smile. This almost made those men fall to the ground.
Seeing that she is showing her smiles to the young men in the area made Arthur feel annoyed.
"This woman… could she not show that to others…" he thought as he suddenly wanted to cover her and keep her for himself.
This selfish notion suddenly made his eyes glow. But then he was able to come to his senses and decide against it.
She is an independent woman. He knows that she is not only beautiful and powerful but also has a free-spirited attitude.
Why would she argue with those doctors if she is as docile as a sheep, right?
The two then walked inside the ancestral home of the Tangs under everyone's gaze.
Jisoo seems to have entered another era one that has the feeling of ancientness in them.
Soon, Jisoo could see the dragon jade statue that the man almost has stolen. When she saw that thing, she almost jumps in joy.
Although it produces a baleful aura and is very dangerous once someone could be exposed to it for a long time, she is not that worried.
That baleful aura is something that she can easily turn into chaotic Reiki.
Upon seeing that thing, she almost could not help herself to run in front of it and then grab it for herself.
Judging from the amount of baleful aura inside of that thing, she could deduce that it could refill her Reiki and more after curing the old man.
But her eyes did not stay on that statue only. She could sense that there are more objects inside of this place that has a baleful aura. She could say that she truly hits the jackpot this time.
"This place… this is not a normal grave…" she suddenly muttered.
When he heard this, Arthur was stunned and stopped in his tracks.
He realized that the woman is actually like himself… a martial arts cultivator. And not only that, but she is also proficient in mystics and arts.
"You can also feel it?" Arthur asked with a smile.
She nodded.
"Yes, you're right. This place is actually a graveyard for those that have died in the war many years ago… Plus, many… cultivators were buried in this place," he explained.
"Our family is actually guarding this place so that the village around it could be safe." He added.
She could not help but look at the young man before her with curiosity. When the first time she saw him, she knew that there is something different about his body.
"Martial arts cultivator?" she asked with interest.
He suddenly looks confused by her question.
"You… you're not practicing martial arts cultivation technique?" he confirms.
She shook her head and looks at him while slightly tilting her head sideways.
She looks like an interested cat which almost made Arthur want to pat her head. But he controls himself and diverted his gaze.
"Martial arts cultivation has many levels. The first one is the white level or the colorless level. Then there's the yellow level in which one could already use Chi." He explained.
"After the yellow level, the blue, then the red, and then the black level… someone said that there is a level higher than black, but that is a deep secret in the cultivation of the Martial arts and is far too hard to attain by someone with a limited lifespan…" he added.
"Even red and black levels are already hard to attain. This is because, as we humans grow old, our power and strength also diminish."
When she heard those words, she nodded her head. In fact, she could feel such a thing while absorbing the energy from the rays of the sun in the morning.
It can be refined because if not, the radiation that enters one's body is far too potent to cause harm rather than good.
However, for some reason, the human body is able to bask in the energy given by the sun making it strong and helping with making the body healthier.
But of course, too much of such a thing is also detrimental to one's health.
After learning of the martial arts cultivator background from Arthur, she now fully understands that this world truly has a different system of cultivation.
It is not that it lacks Reiki, but it just uses a different type of energy which is actually still Reiki, but they call it Chi or spirit Qi.
The attention that the young woman is giving him, made Arthur feel a bit happy. He almost did not want time to end at this point as he wanted to be with her more.
"Umm… After healing your grandfather… Can… Can I have this jade statue?" she asked with a hint of reluctance.
When he heard her request, he almost wanted to say yes immediately, but then stopped himself.
"I'm really under her spell, right?" he suddenly thought as if waking from a stupor.
"Damn it, I should be vigilant…" he then showed a suspicious look at Jisoo.
When she saw him looking at her like that, she could not help but wanted to laugh. She seems to be able to read what's on his mind while watching his reaction.
Though he tried to control it, she could still notice them.
"I'm not some witch you know…" she thought.
"It seems that you're hesitant in that, I guess this thing has value in your family… How about this… Can I stay here for 3 days while waiting for the treatment of your grandfather… that would not be an inconvenience, right?" she changed her request.
Arthur was a bit surprised but then shook his head.
"Doctor Sung, this place… is dangerous." He warned.
"No one stays here, especially at night…" he added while looking a bit mysterious.
But Jisoo showed a faint smile on her face.
"Do I look like I don't know what's in here, Mr. Tang? I am well aware of the horror of this place, however… there is something in here that would truly help me." she explained.
The eyes of Arthur showed reluctance in them as he did not want anything to happen to her.
"If you truly want to stay here, then I would insist to accompany you…" he said with a resolution in his eyes.
Jisoo knew that she could not persuade him about this, so she decided to agree.
The energy in this place is truly something that she could not let pass. It is better to ask permission from the owner than to sneak in here. That way, she did not have to act like a thief.
She is after all a former sect head and she is no thief… at least that's what she thought.
