Lance was woken by a maid. He felt the warm sun on his pale skin, he got out of his comfortable bed and put on his clothes and heading downstairs for breakfast.
He told all of his workers thank you and wished them a good day as he went on.
He sat down at the long table by himself and he ate the lovely meal. He chewed at a slow pace and he had lots on his mind. Once he finished he brought his plate to the kitchen for someone to clean. He went on with his day like normal. About mid day he finished his weaponry practice. "Lance! My boy, good day isn't it?" An older man with a red-ish beard with white sticking through said. The man chuckled in lances direction. " haha. Good day father, how did you rest?" Lance responded clearly not wanting to talk to the man.
"I slept rather well but I must talk to you. Clean yourself then come into the planning room."
The man said shaking lances soft strawberry hair. "Will do father."
Lance stood as sweat glistened off of his body. He put away everything he had used to train with. And he went and cleaned himself as his father asked. He walking into his fathers 'planning room' it was really just a study with more weapons. "You needed me father?" He asked.
"Yes. It's about the forest leading to the elven woods."
"Some of our men caught a few elves past their side. "
Lance realizing this was pretty serious and sat next to his father.
"And? What's wrong with that it's only one time right?"
Lance questioned his father
"It's actually the 4th time we've caught them this week, alone."
His father replied looking at a map laid across the table with small chess pieces.
"So what does this mean?" Lance asked
"This mean we approach carefully. You never know what those elves are up to."
His father said in a raspy voice as if he hadn't had slept at all.
"I'm sending you son, to meet with their leader.."
His father emphasized leader with air quotes.
In some shock Lance replied after thinking for a few seconds.
"Will I go alone? And may I bring a few scrolls of any past documents?"
He father looked at him and said " you may go alone if you please but after 7 days if you do not return I'm sending in soldiers. And any documents you need you are welcome to."
Lance replied rather rushed "when do I go?"
"Within 2 days you pick your time" his father said with some worry.
"Alright I'll start packing, send someone up when it's time for dinner."
Lance said rushing out of the room.
He giggled as he ran up to his room, he had sent some books there before and wanted to bring more volumes he had written.
He grabbed a satchel and shoved the scrolls in on top of his books and he was going to put some water and fruit in the bag as well in case he got hungry.
"I'm ready to see the place my books have been going to."
His train of thought was interrupted by a knowing on his door letting him know dinner was ready.
Balin grabbed a book by someone with the pen name of Lance.
He sat and read the books that were here and he actually got really into the series.
When he finished reading them it was close to night fall so he asked the keeper of the book store. " Do you know when anymore of these will get in?"
The keeper replied " sadly no, but I do believe they are from the other side of the forest. I have no clue on how they got here all I know if that the writer is rather popular now".
