Lance waking around the woods on the path he was told to follow saw a butterfly. He crouched down and he took notes on it. He wrote down every significant detail, the butterfly had a slight discoloration on its left wing at the bottom of the wire like ends. Once he was done he left and continued his walk. It was quite relaxing, until he remembered that by night fall he must either kill any goblins roaming or hide. He had decided to hide in a tree when night fall came.
He let out a few sighs thinking of the book shop he must visit on his way in or out. He had even brought the 8th volume he was working on, bringing from volumes 5-7 to drop off at the store. When night fall arrived he climbed a tree and sat in the center. It connected all the branches to the center. As he drifted off to sleep he saw a birds next. But these birds where not ordinary. Well they looked different but yet so beautiful. He took not of them with the butterfly but on a different page so maybe if he finds anyone whom can draw, he might be able to ask them to maybe draw a photo of them.
The birds had an orange underneath and an light teal on top with some feathers sticking off of their head. They're eyes being a solid black in the night. He wondered what hey looked like in the daytime.
Ballin rushed out of bed being a bit late. Honestly in elven time it doesn't matter as much as humans make a fuss about. He walked in a bit out of breath from running down a hill and into the shop. There he was mentored on everything. As he looked down on the bottom floor from his current position on the second floor he could watch people come in and out and he would simply help people if they asked about any of the locations of books.
He already had the locations of most of the books memorized. Growing up he didn't have any friends so he came to the book store and read in any of his free time.
On the first day he was asked out to dinner by a girl with braided hair and she was well dressed. But he was uninterested because she didn't even read a single book nor had he ever seen her besides at the bread shop a few times a week.
He carried on with his work. And when it was his break time he went to the elementary school where his father's sister taught. He liked hanging out with her because they both had a passion for literature. She taught a girl named coco. The small girl had tight curly hair and she was fair in skin. She looked up at him and asked him " m-mister, who are y-you? And H- how'd you g-get so tall.?" She stuttered barley managing out of her mouth.
"I am balin, Mrs. Woolen's nephew, and i happen to be 6 foot and 7 inches or as you might know as 200 cms!"
The girl was shocked by how tall he was. Compared to mrs. Woolen he was really tall. She was roughly 5'7 or 170 cms!
He talked to the girl some more and when he had to go she was pouting. He then promised " how about this, what if I come back on my break from work and come see you ok?"
She nodded still being a bit sad that he had to go.
He left after saying goodbye to the class and his aunt.
Once he was back he filed a few papers out that his boss had assigned him.
