Lance didn't sleep well, when he woke his hair was all messy and his neck was sore from the position he slept in. He opened his eyes slowing, the bright sun shining in from the branches meeting his honey colored eyes. He looked at the birds that were there last night. They're eyes where black. Nothing else to take note of, so he got down. He continued on the path whilst looking in his satchel. He realized that the maids had put an sewing kit in the satchel with a dagger no bigger than his hand.
"Jeez if this falls out they're going to think I'm attacking them." He sighed.
He got to the village about mid-day. Before entering he made sure his hood was on and was covering a good bit of his face. He was rather tall compared to most of the villagers in the town. He was just at 6'1 or 185 cm. He saw the book store and walked in.
Once he woke from going to bed the past night. Balin was late like normal. He re-arranged some books and read a few books similar to the past series he is obsessed with.
He left for his break about 12:30.
Balin was saying his goodbyes to the elementary school kids and his aunt. He was in eyesight of the bookshop once Lance walked in. Balin asked himself who had walked into the book shop.
Lance went up to the front desk. "E-Excuse me." He barley got out. " I uhm h-have some b-books. They've b-been sold here b-before."
The librarian looked up from the book he was reading. "What book series?" They asked. At the moment balin had walked in but he didn't dare interrupt the conversation they were having so he grabbed the bell and prevented it from ringing.
"The A-Action series β¦ R-Returning to H-Hell.." he again barely got it out. He noticed balin and politely smiled and continued his conversation. Balin's eyes had already lit up.
"Really.?" The librarian asked. "Before another person had delivered it for you, why do you come now.?" He asked. " I'm here to V-Visit someone, so I figured I'd Drop T-These off."
He said while scratching the back of his neck. His hair he had fixed in the way so the small side hairs returned to his face.
Once they finished the conversation and Lance learned that his novel had grown a bit. He was given some chips for the book selling well. Lance decided not to turn them down and to keep them in case he needed them to buy anything.
He had counted out 145 chips for 5 books sold. After he calculated them in human coins he was walking towards the exit. But his hand was grabbed by someone. Balin had grabbed his hand . His eyes showed his enthusiasm. Balin asked " Did you really write that book?" His voice kind of shamed with anticipation. Lance responded. " y-yes I uhm I did.." Lance having to look up a little saw balins handsome face. Balins eyes being as pure as the earth's soil and his hair being in braids with some jewelry in them.
Lance couldn't help but feel his cheeks get a little warm. Embassies he looked away for a moment to capture his thoughts. Balin smiled a big smile. He pulled Lance off to the second floor and sat them down at a table.
"I've been thinking so much of your series! You've done an amazing job!" Balin said not holding back any of his excitement.
Lance was even more flustered now. A pathetic thank you full of stutters was all Lance was able to manage. His cheeks were burning it seemed.
"I'm sorry I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, I'm just a bit more extroverted when it's about something I'm very passionate for." Balin apologized.
Lance in response said " it's alright I understand, after all the main characters I have up my sleeve aren't all introverted like good old Greg here, some are even more than extroverted than Kevin. [ Greg is an introverted devil being the main character in the story, and Kevin is an extroverted human that wants Greg to take him down to hell.]
" YOU HAVE MORE BOOKS?!?!" Balin said in shock. Lance simply smiled and nodded.
