Chapter 59 - Chapter 59. True Inheritance ( 1 )

A month after the fifth candidate was selected,

All the other parties headed towards the western continent as per the information given by their respective crests.

Currently, Tirus, together with Kane and other rank 2 magi from dark dawn guild, were on their way to the western continent.

In a massive room of the airship,

"Kane, how long do you think it should take us?" Tirus asked Kane with a smile on his face, looking at him while sitting right beside him on the round table.

"Lord, I think it should take us another two days to reach the western continent." Kane answered after thinking for a while.

"Hm…is that so, I see." Tirus paused and then continued after a few seconds of silence he asked, "Who are the ones that you've chosen for this mission?"

"Lord, all the ones who have come together with me were chosen by the lady. Eight of us were selected by her after a round of tests and since I am the only other rank 3 magi in the guild besides her, I was naturally selected as their leader for this mission.

The best rank 2 magi in my team is named Karl, he lost an eye of his during a mission around a hundred years ago but didn't use spells to heal it even when he was capable of that for some personal reasons." Kane further explained the process that the lady used to select only the worthy ones.

The lady he was talking about was, of course, Beth, but no one in the entire twilight zone knew her real name and her past was as mysterious as their founder, Tirus's. However, they knew one thing for sure, and that was to never anger her or else they wouldn't even know how they died.

Since she was a warlock, she was naturally stronger than any magi of the same rank. But of course, nobody knew that. All of them thought that she was just a magus who had used all kinds of transfiguration to increase her physical prowess.

At first, she was given titles like the bone demoness, but her noble disposition soon earned her the title of the scarlet empress or the lady.

"Hm, I see, I see. I think I've heard about this magus, Karl. He is an old member from our guild and had joined when he was just an ordinary human." Tirus murmured under his breath while twirling his hair.

His guild in the twilight zone had made great progress in every field other than spatial studies. Not only that, they were the wealthiest organization in the entire twilight zone and had the highest authority as well.

Due to their popularity, many rank 1 and rank 2 magi were willing to join their guild and this rank 3 magus, Kane, who had already lived longer than Tirus himself was also willing to join their guild, this caused their popularity to soar to new heights.

Kane started explaining the strengths of the other magi in the team.

Time passed and in a blink of an eye, another 2 days passed and they arrived at their location,

The Western continent.

The sky was covered with clouds while the earth was home to numerous swamps, in it were hundreds of marine animals only found in the western continent.

[Beep! The concentration of the water element particles is 20% more than that of the central continent]

The A.I. chip loyally gave Tirus a detailed report about the environment of the western continent in its cold, mechanical voice.

They passed by countless cities and kingdoms in a few hours and, of course, left their airship far away from the inheritance's location to not leave any traces behind.

In a few hours, they reached a wasteland filled with peculiar blue rocks.

There, in midair was a giant golden ring which radiated no aura. Around it were three groups of 5 magi each.

'It seems they've already arrived.' The thought flashed past his mind as he started landing together with Kane and the others.

Tirus was currently feeling a little bit of excitement after a century. He had used his dark prophetic heart to deduce whether this inheritance would be safe enough for him or not, but the prophetic heart wasn't able to deduce it.

He was no coward who was afraid of death, it was simply that he wanted to know the true extent of the danger he would face to be prepared for it. Letting out a light sigh, he said,

"I am Tirus, the inheritance candidate from the eastern continent." He landed and introduced himself while letting his rank 3 radiation flow freely.

"I am Kane, the inheritance candidate from the central continent."

Seeing them, the others also introduced themselves one by one.

Other than Tirus, Kane and another bulky looking magi who were humans, the others were all of different races.

"I am Aimon, inheritance candidate from the northern continent." Aimon, who was now wearing a green magus robe, introduced himself. His elven subordinates, proudly standing behind their master.

'A wood elf?' Tirus thought.

"I am Chris. Inheritor from the south coast." The bulky looking, 4 meter tall magi with hydro phase rank 3 cultivation spoke, assessing everyone around him.

"… Now that the inheritance candidates from central, eastern, northern, and southern continents have introduced themselves, I believe it's my turn now.

*cough* *cough*

I am Mar, a dwarf and the inheritance candidate from the western continent. I am also tasked with the duty to make sure that you all co-operate and use your crests together to open up the portal without killing each other here and now.

And also, for those of you who are wondering as to who gave me this task, allow me to clarify, it was this crest." He said with a wide smile on his face while pointing at the crest with his unnaturally small finger.

The crest that was emitting all five colors at once was the proof of this.

Hearing all this, Kane, Chris, Tirus and Aimon, all looked at each other with eyes with a bit of awkwardness.

This dwarf, although had peak rank 3 cultivation, didn't have any other subordinates with him, but his energy radiation gave all of them a peculiar feeling.

They had planned to kill all others and take their crests and the true inheritance for themselves, but now, this dwarf just made everyone present speechless.

"Now, raise your crests up and then put spiritual force into them, once you do that, the portal will open, and we will all be transported inside the semi-plane, do you understand?" Mar said all of this with a flawless, wide smile on his face.

All others nodded and then did as per the instructions.

An intense five colored light was emitted by the golden ring in the air but was quickly suppressed by the crests and then the light shone on the corresponding crest owners, and they were all enveloped in the light.
