Magus world,
Twilight Zone, northern region,
Dark dawn guild headquarters,
In the leader's room, there was a woman with red hair and golden eyes sitting on a chair lazily, looking at the dark, cloudy sky through the window.
'How many years has it been since he left?' She thought, gently caressing her snow-white skin. This woman was Beth, who administered the dark dawn guild.
It had now been 6 years ever since her master had left for the central continent, even though they regularly interacted through the messages, it simply wasn't the same as talking to him face to face.
"Please return quickly, I miss you, master." She murmured under her breath.
…
In the semi-plane,
The forest region,
"What is the report?" Tirus asked Kane. It had now been a full week ever since they entered this place, this semi-plane was so big and filled with danger that it took them almost 2 days just to get out of the forest. In the end, they decided to return to the forest and build a temporary base there.
"Lord, this plane is too big. It is roughly divided into three parts. In the east, there is a forest in which we currently are and in the west there is a seemingly endless desert. In the center of east and west, there is a boundless ocean with a massive island in the center. We have checked this forest in its entirety. There appears to be no one apart from us."
"And we are also higher in numbers." Tirus cut him off in the middle and looked at the miniature sun setting in the west direction.
"Where do you think the inheritance is in this plane?" He turned around slightly and asked while looking at Kane with the corners of his eye.
"Lord… I believe that it'll show itself when a certain criteria is met. Like killing everyone else or waiting here for a long enough time."
"Hm...is that really the case?" Tirus murmured under his breath, but Kane was able to hear it.
'A.I. chip, show me my current stats.' He ordered the A.I. chip internally.
[Name: Tirus Van Elrod, Occupation: rank 3 magus; crystal phase, strength: 56.1, agility: 60.3, vitality: 56.1, spiritual force: 379.0 (magic power is in sync with spiritual force) status: Healthy]
After all these years, his physical stats had reached a monstrous level, which even most warlocks may not be able to reach within the time he did.
He was almost 200 years old, and he was infinitely closer to reaching the legendary morning star rank. It was still thousands of years before the story of the canon had even started, and so, rank 4 magi were still quite rare in the central continent.
If he could reach rank 4, then he'd have a very high reputation in the continent, and then he may even be able to extend his business from twilight zone to the surface world, earning mountains of magic crystals.
Just as he was thinking about this, he noticed the presence of a rank 2 magi near his base.
This rank 2 magi was Karl. He was wearing a black robe, the standard uniform of the dark dawn guild, coupled with his brownish beard and the red mechanical eye, he looked quite formidable.
"Lord, we have searched the surroundings for intelligent lifeforms for the third time. There were a total of 2,34,997 lifeforms present in this forest, and over half of them pose no threat at all and are ordinary.
A third of the other half have the battle strength of rank 2 acolytes, and the last remaining ones have power comparable to peak rank 3 acolytes.
There is a magical beast with strength comparable to the rank 1 official magus and is the overlord of this area." Karl quickly gave his report after kneeling in front of them. Even though he was a genius and an elder of the dark dawn guild, he still didn't dare to be lax around these rank 3 seniors.
"...hm, good, fortify our defenses and use shadow soldiers to guard the surroundings. The magi are to stay in the inner area of the forest, then we will slowly explore and finally invade the enemy territory." Tirus gave out orders and Karl quickly left after hearing them.
….
On the island,
"Lord Aimon, no enemy had invaded our territory by now, and we have already prepared the traps for those who dare to come." An elf magi said with a proud smile on his face.
However, his lord's expression remained the same as he said in his usual monotone voice, "Don't grow lax. You have to keep your guard up every moment you are here. Otherwise, we will all die without knowing what happened to us… How is the preparation of the beast enslavement going?"
"Lord, the water beasts are gentle is nature, so it was effortless to enslave them all." The elf, even though discouraged, didn't dare to show off his displeasure in front of Aimon.
"Good, Good." To this, Aimon finally nodded with a satisfied smile on his face.
…
In the desert, a dwarf was sitting on a throne made of glass inside a luxurious sand castle.
"Hahaha, what weak magi, why did they even come here?" He laughed maniacally as he saw the bulky looking magi holding his food for him, his eyes devoid of all life.
This was all Mar's doing, he had alone defeated all of these magi and refined them into his puppets to do his biding. Now, he was enjoying this moment while his other puppets went outside and collected intel for him.
To be continued…
