"Are we ready?" Sitting on a throne of rocks, Aimon asked a rank 2 elf kneeling in front of him.
"Yes, lord, we are." The elf replied.
*Bam*
The sound of a huge explosion resounded in their ears, and the island shook violently.
Aimon's expression turned grim as he turned into a green flash of light and appeared outside.
"What the hell is this?" Shock was written all over his face as he saw hundreds…no, thousands of blood-red colored bats flying in a circle, slashing the island's defensive formation from all sides at once, slowly closing in.
"What do we do, lord?" The other elf asked in horror, it looked as if all the blood had been drained from his face.
"Attack, of course." Aimon quickly regained his composure and gave them an order. Soon, thousands of bright yellow arrows made of pure energy were shot towards the bats, but they simply didn't seem to be enough as the number of the bats kept increasing.
"They really think they can escape?" Tirus snorted coldly, looking down on them from above. He lifted his hand and pointed his finger towards the island and a dark beam of light shot towards the island at full speed.
*Crash*
As the defensive shield that was protecting the island got destroyed, Tirus prepared himself and his subordinates to advance, but suddenly, a green jelly like creature manifested itself in the air.
*Blop*
Hundreds of tentacles were attached to the lower end of its body, yet they looked as if they held no strength but were only for show.
Karl's mechanical eye moved at rapid speed, and he shouted, "Lord, this beast is releasing its eggs." And quickly backed away.
Tirus knew this already thanks to the A.I. chip's warning signals and spanned his fingers, using the data given by the A.I. chip, he increased the temperature of the surroundings just enough to destroy the microscopic eggs of this jelly like magical beast.
"If you wish to survive, then you'll have to do more than just this." He said while chuckling slightly.
…
In the sand castle, Mar was looking at this scene thanks to a spell. A smile appeared on his face as he said, "Finally, a worthy opponent."
"Be ready for attacking them after a few hours." He turned around and ordered the now enslaved south coast magi.
Near them were countless sturdy looking stone golems which were as tall as 5 meters in length.
"Yes, master." The now enslaved Chris replied in a firm tone devoid of all emotion.
"Hm, good then." Mar nodded at this response and returned to his room.
…
On the island,
All the wood elves were now laying unconscious on the ground as their leader knelt before Tirus, begging for his life.
"Lord magi from eastern continent, please forgive me, this lowly one, for attempting to harm you." Aimon grunted in a voice filled with grief.
"You don't sound sincere enough, though." Tirus coldly said with an expressionless face, touching the blade of his void sword. He had intentionally left all these elves alive to use their bodies for other purposes.
"Lord…lo." Aimon whimpered as he lifted his head, ready for a counterattack, but suddenly, he saw a red blob of flesh entering his body through his nostrils and mouth.
"I already know such tactics, you really are desperate to survive, aren't you?" Tirus said in a mocking tone as he released more such blobs of flesh from his bag of holding.
Slowly, Aimon's body was covered in a black liquid as all of his body's muscles started spasming violently.
Soon, all movement stopped, and his entire body was covered in a black cocoon. A few hours later, these cocoons will be stored into Tirus's storage pouch especially made for living beings and by the time they return to the magus world, Tirus would already have obtained a few male wood elves for kickstarting his elven slave business.
Tirus turned around and looked at the corpses of four of his subordinates, Karl was one of them. He didn't feel any guilt or sadness for them, but still, he said, "Take their bodies and give them a proper burial when we reach the twilight zone."
"Yes, lord." Kane bowed his head slightly. But soon, his expression changed along with Tirus to one of great shock.
"That tentacle monster, is it still alive?" Kane murmured under his breath, seeing the fleshy tentacle which resembled the roots of an old tree, he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Both him and Tirus, along with the remaining magi, flew into the air while protecting all the bodies from the fleshy tentacles.
The tentacles sensed this movement and tried to reach up to them in the air, but were simply not strong enough to reach such a height.
"Be careful, don't let them devour anybody." Tirus gave an order with a gaze filled with suspicion as he spread out his spiritual force to cover the entire area.
He felt the bodies of the magical beasts and his bats being devoured by the tentacles underwater. Soon, the tentacle on the ground which was trying to reach up to them bulged with red veins all over and shot up towards them like an arrow.
'Oh… shit.' This thought flashed by in his mind as he considered a grim possibility.
"We have to leave." He murmured under his breath.
To be continued…
