The artificial sun was setting in the west,
A black ray of light was rushing towards the eastern part of the semi-plane, the forest, which was now filled with withered trees.
Soon, it stopped once it arrived at its destination, the black light faded and revealed the body of a rank 3 magi. This is naturally Tirus, he had a calm expression on his face, but he couldn't help but feel a little shocked by the scene in front of him.
Hundreds of tentacles with tenacious vitality had now grown unnaturally gigantic mouths with razor sharp teeth and were eating away on the corpses of three rank 2 magi of the dark dawn guild.
'Where are the rest?' He thought as he spread out his spirit sense and activated the tracker on their robes as well.
"They're alive…good." He murmured under his breath while snapping his finger, all the tentacles were obliterated in a second, but soon, they started to regrow.
"This semi-plane…it's losing its vitality."
Tirus's eyes widened in shock as he saw the scene in front of him. The withered trees, and the now dusty soil, indicated the amount of vitality being absorbed.
'These tentacles are absorbing the vitality of this plane at a much faster rate…' He thought in a slightly pensive mood.
He started flying towards west direction, as he had told the guild members to rush towards the west.
But after hesitating for a while, he landed on the ground and erected a semi-transparent barrier which gave him cover, before long, he sat down cross-legged and started to recover his lost spiritual force.
After a few minutes, he opened his eyes and said,
"Is the spell prepared?"
[It will take another 4 hours 5 minutes and 17 seconds to create that spell]
"Good, I can recover my spiritual force till then." Ever since the first time Tirus saw those tentacles, he had already given the A.I. chip the order to scan them and prepare a spell that could destroy them.
…
The desert region,
The dark dawn guild's magi were fleeing at their highest speed while transforming their bodies from their zombie form to the normal one.
The dark dawn guild had facilities that any magus could use to modify their bodies the way they wanted as long as they paid enough contribution points.
As such, most of these rank 2 magi had used their zombie forms to survive the previous tentacle attack, as for the two who died, they unfortunately had chosen a different kind of transfiguration aside from zombie ones, which now resulted in their deaths.
"Lord Kane, there! I sense the radiation of that dwarf we saw earlier." A magus pointed from behind towards the east.
"Hm, as per the command, we are to go near him, be prepared for his attacks because he isn't our ally." Kane gave instructions to all the magi as he increased his pace.
Soon, they reached Mar's field of spiritual force, causing a frown to appear on his face, "Do they want to die." He murmured with an agitated expression as he gestured his puppets to attack them.
This plane was losing its vitality and he could clearly sense it, so he concluded that he had no time to waste on these small fries.
Those south coast magi, who were now his puppets, started attacking the dark dawn guild's magi.
All the magi of the dark dawn guild took specific positions in the air, evading the incoming attacks, as they formed a pattern akin to a formation.
Soon, spiritual force from their bodies started being emitted and condensed in the center of the formation, forming a blackish blue, fleshy substance which wiggled slightly before being launched at the south coast magi.
*Shii*
The blackish blue ball was shot at a high speed with a loud bang, It made a sizzling sound. The magi puppets were strangely unable to make any movements, as if they were held by a force, what they couldn't see was the invisible chain that a dark dawn guild's magi had just conjured without being noticed.
'Should I go and kill them?' Mar, who was looking at the scene from afar, thought as he stopped in mid-air.
'If I go and attack them, then those tentacles will sense the dense life force and definitely come, damn it!' He thought while clenching his fists and gritting his teeth. When he got his crest and the task to let all the candidates enter peacefully, he thought that he'd be rewarded in some way, or may get an advantage, but what awaited him here was simply a death trap set by that damned ancient magi.
"Keep attacking them, don't leave until they die." Mar ordered the puppets to carry out a battle of attrition before quickly leaving the scene after shooting a fireball towards the black ball.
