Next of my day was uneventful. I was thankful to that. Only thing I had to do was keeping watch when it was my turn. To me it wasn't a big deal. I could see everything around us anyway. When it was time to eat, I ate in my tent. People gathered together and shared food.
"You should come to. It is important to bond with people you are going to fight beside."
Jonathan invited me.
"I don't think it would be appropriate after what happened last day."
"Don't mind that. Everyone is slightly on edge in a dungeon. Things like that happen all the time."
"I prefer this. Thanks anyway."
Jonathan nodded.
"Suit yourself."
I couldn't eat with my mask anyway. I also needed to drink my daily blood. Because of those reasons I was in my tent. Some people come and tried to talk to me. Probably because they saw how good I was. But seeing how cold I was, they left. I only wanted them to know how good I was. I had no intention of socializing.
"You should talk to others. You are going to die alone."
That was what Leyla told me once. I was always like this. It didn't really bothered me not having a lot people around me. Yet now that I was fully alone, I felt empty. My only two friends were dead and I had to stay away from my family. I had no one to talk.
"I haven't heard from Edward."
Altough I asked Elizabeth about him, she always told me he was busy.
"I guess he has no time for a low-ranking hunter like me."
Even if I could talk to Elizabeth, she wasn't my friend. She was just a chain I needed to break off. Nothing more, nothing less.
"I need to climb to Vampire Council."
Vampire Council was leaders of vampires. While most were Ancestor vampires like Elizabeth some were First-Generation like me. So I could be accepted to it. The problem was I was so weak.
"If I can get a chair in council, I would have enough power to protect my family."
As a member of council, Elizabeth was strong enough to influence high ranking hunter guilds like Excalibur. As I nearly drifted asleep with my thoughts Hawkeye activated fully. My head throbbed with immense amount of information rushing my mind. I ignored pain and searched for the reason. Since this camp was filled with humans movement wasn't unusual so what triggered it must be something else. I quickly get out of my tent. Some half asleep guards turned their head and looked at me.
"Is there anything out of ordinary?"
"No?"
I asked to guard. His answer of course didn't satisfy me.
"What happened?"
He asked but I was too busy tracing my vision. Still, I couldn't see anything that could be a thre-
"Dodge!"
I screamed but it was too late. Guard I just talked disappeared in an instant.
"Alarm!"
One of the other guard shouted. I pulled throwing daggers from my coat and threw them. I tried to spread them as wide as possible. While two of them just hit air, one got stuck on something. Around blade a green liquid spew, corroding and melting the blade.
"Stay where you are!"
Something was there. A monster with ability to hide itself. I released my Domination aura and ordered whatever it was to stay where it was. I pulled my sword from its sheath and was about to strike but something slammed to me, sending me flying.
"It broke of my skill!"
Only reason my bones weren't smashed to pieces was because I moved with impact, lessening it. I still could somewhat could feel it and react. I heard chaos erupting as more people were waking up.
"What's happening!"
Jonathan screamed.
"A monster with-"
I had to roll to side. Something huge slammed to ground where I was lying down. Rocks and dirt flew everywhere.
"-Concealment ability!"
I finished my sentence as I got up.
"Gather around me! Protect magicians and healers! Magicians create barriers!"
Jonathan's loud voice surpressed the chaos. People tried to move towards him yet they were grabbed by an invisible force. Some were smashed to ground while others just disappeared completely.
"Shit!"
How! I have a C++ vision skill! Why I can't see it?
"I don't have to see it!"
I dropped my sword. I had no time to sheathe it. I pulled five arrows from my quiver. As I pulled the string back, I remembered old movies Father liked watching. Hero in those movies would pull the same shit I was trying to to. As my back and arm muscles screamed due strain placed on them, I added some mana to my arrows. It was just a slight amount yet my arrows shined brightly in darkness of the night. My mana resonated with my own blood in the arrows. I created them using Blood Reinforcenment. I released string. 5 arrows drew wild arcs in the air. All of them moved in different directions. When they finally hit the invisible creature, explosions happened. I heard a ground shaking noise coming from it.
"A reptile? A snake?"
Noise reminded me snakes I saw at the rural area I lived.
"Shit! Block it!"
I screamed as I dodged frantically. That green fluid rained everwhere. When it touched something, they melted. Magicians were able to create barriers to keep it away from most people, thankfully.
"It is huge snake!"
Green liquid covered its entire body now. While its body was still not visible, I could see the outline.
"It is immune to its own acid!"
Rip my arrows, I guess. I spent days to make them. What a waste. But now wasn't the time to worry over several arrows. Snake now glared me. I could feel it. I hurt it and it know it. I expected it to lunge towards me so I was ready to dodge to side. But the outline just raised its body and…
"What the fuck!"
Shook its body like a dog trying to dry itself! Its blood rained down everywhere, now more in quantity than before!
