Chapter 47 - End?

I sat down and drank blood to heal myself. It was in closed container so other hunter couldn't see what I was drinking. After that I bandaged cut on my wrist.

"Good thing I didn't cut it too deep."

How stupid of me to cut my wrist. I could easily lose a lot of blood in short amount of time and be useless. I seriously had to learn how to keep my cool. Still, I was in a better condition compered some of the hunters. We still weren't sure how many died due snake's sneak attacks. We couldn't even get close to corpse of it due acidic blood being everywhere. Wounded were in a very bad condition. Most of them screamed in pain and agony. Begging and pleading. The ones who were lucky only got their skin burned. Even their wounds looked horrible and they carried a pain filled expression. I was nearly hundred percent sure that even after they healed they would left with horrible scars. Yeah, those were the lucky ones. Unlucky ones were….

"Just kill me! Oh God! Mother!"

Acid ate their skin and melted their internal organs. They couldn't just die but their wounds were so great that they couldn't be healed. They suffered, waiting and hoping for death. I got up after making sure that wound on my wrist stopped bleeding. It wasn't fully healed yet even with drinking blood but I wouldn't bleed out thanks to bandage. I walked towards one of the healers.

"How can I help? I know how to do first aid. "

It was required in the combat school I went to. I didn't know about others, though. Before that healer could even turn to me and answer, I was tackled by someone. I always reacted by stabbing the guy before realizing the state he was in.

"You son of a bitch! Look around you! You went and attacked that monster without orders and look what happened!"

He was crying. It wasn't a pretty crying. Mucus and tears just overflowed from his face. He grasped my collar tightly with one hand and he shook other hand.

"John had kids and family! He fucking melted! This is your fault!"

He made a fist and swung it towards me. I could easily dodge yet I didn't do that. Fist hit my cheek and impact made my head move to side. Blood flowed from my lips. I just looked at the guy. He was angry. He was sad. He just lost someone. He was just like me. How could I do anything to him?

"Enough! This is not the time for that shit! Leave him alone!"

George pulled the man off me. He struggled and screamed.

"Am I wrong? If he didn't attacked carelessly…"

"We would all be dead. Now shut the fuck up!"

George's face and arm were bandaged. Moving caused him great deal of pain according to his face yet he moved.

"Only sharpshooter could see thorough that monsters attack was him! He is the one detected it! He also is the one that killed it!"

George threw the guy to ground.

"If you could have done better why didn't you done it? If you could save everyone, why we have casualties? If you don't have an answer and move, then use it to secure the area and help the wounded!"

He looked at me and nodded. I nodded back.

"How can- Fuck!"

My eye activated again.

"We are being surrounded! Everyone!"

What the fuck was happening? I looked at the monsters with confusion. None of those monsters were on the documents of this dungeon.

"Goblins! "

One screamed.

"Lizardman?"

Other voice responded from other side. I saw George looking at me. His eyes expected an answer from me. I could only shook my head. I didn't know what was happening. What I knew was…

"You come here! Protect wounded! You and you, come with me! We will secure this part!"

I shouted as I pointed to healthy hunters. With my bow I traced the creatures coming towards us.

"16 goblins, 11 lizardman, 6 orcs. 5 dire wolves. 2 salamenders. George, you must block them from coming here! We can't block their fire attacks right now! 75 meters! They are around 6 o'clock! Magicians cast light magic!"

I felt weird taking command like this. However, we were in darkness and I was the one with best eye in here. I heard some heavy footsteps stopping to my side.

"Move wounded to here! Create a circle and put them in the middle!"

Jonathan ordered. I pulled string back and released several arrows at the same time.

"Around 10 hobgoblins, 55 meters, ten o'clock! 15 kobolds, 60 meters, 11 o'clock! "

My voice was loud and clear. Jonathan also ordered about formation with me. I kept firing my bow while shouting.

"Emma, you need to pull arrows from corpses. Start from 1 o'clock, 20 meters. I have arrows, give them to others."

I said without looking at her. I could see her anyways. But she had a confused face until she smiled.

"So you remember my name!"

"Focus."

My voice didn't change. Truth was I was using Domination to make things smoother. I thought since it was a similar skill to Charisma it would help. Seeing people listen orders and coordinate successfully, I was right. Who knew it could be used like that?

"They just won't end!"

"They are stronger than usual! Be careful!"

People shouted to each other. It must seem chaotic to others. But to me, who could see everything in the battlefield it was different. I could see that we were pushing monsters. Hunters were tired. We been fighting for hours and sun was about to dawn. At least with sun people could see better and magicians don't have to spend mana on light magic. Some of them were already passed out due exhaustion. Mage class hunters didn't known by their stamina. Yet, were okay. Number of monsters just magically appearing became lower and lower. We were nearly safe.
