While listening to the background noise coming from the television, Lock lifted himself up from his bed.
He always secluded himself in his royal chamber and stayed in it for hours.
The room was spacious and had many things that he needed, such as food, clothes, books, video games and a training space that occupied almost half of his room.
He immediately walked to the training space. It was a completely separate space that faced a big mirror that covered the entire wall.
With his gold eyes, he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He wore black slacks, white polo long sleeves, and a golden vest that only covered the upper half of his upper body.
He placed his right foot forward and muttered seriously;
"Let's try again today."
His eyes glinted as he instantly gathered mana all around his body. Protruding veins suddenly appeared on his forehead and neck, as he bit his lip to keep himself together. His golden eyes shone, but it quickly stopped and gone normal.
"Tsk. Focus."
He reminded himself, before continuing once again.
"Phew…"
The same thing happened again, but now his eyes continued to shine, and then his heart started to beat faster than normal. Blood rushed through his body, energizing him.
Suddenly, the bulging veins visible started to appear in other parts of his body until it reached his arm and then his palms.
With his golden eyes finally shimmering like a nugget, Lock gazed at the large mirror in front of him.
'Okay!'
The next instant, a silvery color started to appear, occupying half of his irises until his eyes were now a mix of silver and gold!
He grinned, but he was now panting, as fell to his knees, beads of sweat dropping to the floor.
But it was not the end yet.
"Ugh!"
A stronger surge of blood forced its way through his veins. The pain was unbearable, but he did his best to keep in any screams, fearing he would alarm the butlers and maidservants outside.
"Hic!"
His pupils shrunk as his heart felt a stabbing sensation.
After a few seconds, he lifted his head as he gazed at the mirror, crestfallen. However, he now had some silver strands of hair mixed in with his golden hair, drenched in sweat.
"Hehe," a smile showed on his face in the mirror, showing razor sharp fangs that weren't there before!
At this moment, his face was the same, but it was now a little furry. He was no longer human and his upper body transformed into a silver tiger that was 40% golden.
Lock clenched his fists, smiling, as he felt happy beyond endurance. A bit of his upper garments had been ripped, since he had grown muscles unthinkable of humans, but it was something to be celebrated for.
Lock heard the television talking about the five stages of magic and grinned.
Usually, the awakening of magic only happened around June, known as the Month of Fate. It was that short period when the seven moons come together in the sky and sprinkle mysterious magic dusts upon Argon, later bringing new magic powers and new wizards.
Usually, the process was like that. It was important to wait for the month of June. If one got awakened during the first days of June, it was usually perceived that one had only awakened the Seed Stage. If it was the Second week, it must be the Germination Stage. The third week was the Vegetative Stage. As for the last or fourth week, it would be a debate whether one had awakened the Flowering or Harvest Stage. Usually, the final decision would be determined by a more official aptitude test used by the Magic Association.
However, Lock had differed from the get-go to begin with. His extraordinary physical attributes that had been with him since he was only 7 were already a big mystery. Because of that, people thought he was a great prodigy. People had high hopes for what would he even awaken at the Month of Fate!
But even before the Month of Fate, Lock got some power again, and had been training how to use it since. And the most shocking thing was this was actually the third power he had gained. Lock didn't dare to disclose this to anyone, and kept it to himself, as he wasn't just seven anymore.
The first power he had was the extraordinary strength. People concluded that was a natural gift, and that there would be nothing like that again before Lock would turn 16 and awaken something in his Month of Fate. But that was not even real. Four years ago, when Kara was 12, he had accidentally found out that he can actually move things by his mind. After researching it in the books, he learned the power was called Telekinesis.
And now, what was this power called? Lock had also tried researching this power starting from last week, when he began making quick trips in the library. Just earlier, he had also came from the library, but he still had no clue what this power was actually called.
"Let's just call it the power to transform into a Tiger… with silver and golden fur? No, it's Gold Sil."
Lock tilted his head and wryly let out a small chuckle.
Just then, two loud knocks were heard coming from the door.
"Prince Lock! Wake up!" Butler Rail shouted, knocking once more after.
"Okay, I got it! Just a minute!" Lock shouted back, immediately dashing to his closet to get a new pair of clothes.
At the same time, it was seen in the mirror that he had changed back to normal instantly.
He heaved a sigh of relief in the floor, as sweat dripped around his pale youthful face. But he had no time to rest, as a loud knock was heard again.
He pushed his ripped clothes into a section of his closet where there were over ten ripped clothes. He just went to get the closest clothes he could grab and wore it on in a flashing speed.
He opened the door while slightly sweating. But as he opened the passageway, he froze.
Standing before him was the sight of a large, muscular, and bearded man. He had gold hair and big frame covered by a red royal robe. Their eyes crossed each other and both of them had golden eyes.
"My son, it's time for you to go to your awakening ceremony." King Philip said.
Lock bowed formally and stepped out of the door.
Emotions earlier were now gone, and tension enveloped the entirety of his being.
He followed the King as they left, but, his eyes were now expressionless.
