Jake's sleep was once again ended by the vibrations of his phone beneath his pillow. The new day was fresh and waiting for him to rise and taste of its fresh goodness. Elizabeth was fast becoming his wake up call.
"You have my blessing Liz, you two can get married. Please just let me sleep," Jake complained with the grogginess in his voice exhibit one in his defense.
"I'm sorry dear," Elizabeth apologized, "I just wanted to let you know that I signed the divorce papers. You are free from me now."
Jake slowly got up and sat upright. Finally, that chapter of his life was being closed. He would no longer be legally or technically be bound to anyone. However, he got a bitter feeling as he pondered on the words.
"You make me feel bad if you say it like that," said Jake.
"I am only joking with you. You and I, we're good right?"
"I suppose," Jake's voice lowly expressed.
