Lissy Lock replied, "She's been cursing all along, saying that man is a heartbreaker, a jerk, a liar who promised to marry her, for better or for worse, forever. So I'm guessing Aurora must have had a breakup, right?"
Kai Piers' face changed slightly, but he said nothing.
Aurora Dupont seemed to have sobered up a little. Her eyes blurry from drinking, she lifted her head and mumbled, "Li...Lissy Lock, I can't handle it anymore. Why don't...you and Mr. Fame drink? He...he can hold his liquor quite well..."
"Aurora Dupont," Kai Piers reached out and put a firm arm around her waist, "You're drunk. I'll take you home."
"No, I... I want to see Mr. Fame and Lissy Lock drink. Preferably...from the same cup!" Yes, a toast... Ah! Put me down!"
Finally losing his patience, Kai Piers picked Aurora Dupont up, took big strides, and disappeared into the deep of the night.
Far off, one could still faintly hear Aurora Dupont's voice, apparently singing loudly.
