Looking into his eyes, Lissy felt her heart skip a beat.
"There's something else… Walter Smith… he… he pursued me."
Seeing John Fame's obviously darkened face, Lissy hurriedly continued to explain: "I rejected him very clearly, and he did not insist anymore."
But John Fame's face did not relax.
Lissy's heart gave a jolt. This man was really moody.
Furthermore, it was Walter Smith who pursued her, not her chasing him. What could she do? And she was so vocal in rejecting Walter Smith.
She couldn't and didn't dare to love. From the time she was eight years old, living under John Fame's influence, she didn't have the right to love or be loved.
Bracing herself, Lissy added, "I never expected to meet him again. It's purely a coincidence, just a coincidence."
John Fame glanced at her sideways and his face gradually relaxed. "Walter Smith's taste is quite unique."
Would it kill him to stop belittling her? Would it? huh?
