Chapter 6 – The Old Towers and History

The fierce battle came to a halt after the sword fell. Darren held the wound with his hand, and fresh blood flowed in between as his knees hit the ground, showing that he had lost the fight. The commander goes to the troops, and they shout for his arrival.

"Yeah..."

"He deserves it!"

Mary ran over and saw the wound on his neck.

"I am alright. My wound is only scratched." Dareen answered before the woman asked his condition.

Mary took out her handkerchief, smeared some liquid medicine on top, and gave it to him to tie.

The Mana magic circle absorbed more energy, making his body limp. It was the first time he felt a magical power that he had difficulty controlling.

His hands and body trembled to get rid of him, gripping tightly.

"A servant child possesses the great power of the forefathers." said the commander approaching Dareen.

"Why don't we just continue?" is calm and standing.

"A damaged or broken weapon is a sign that the duel is over." they turned away from him.

"Try again, kid. It took a hundred years for you to defeat an army commander like me," he added again as he walked away, leaving the two of them there.

The troops followed him from behind. The heat in Dareen's body has also subsided, leaving them to continue his steps to the library.

"You'd better go to your room to rest," Mary said anxiously.

"It's okay, let's get out of here. There are many things I have to look for." Dareen answered without looking at her.

She wanted to help hold his body but hesitated to walk alone. Realizing that the figure had drifted away, Mary ran towards Dareen.

After walking through Duke Moore's enormous mansion, they were greeted by a broad field only covered with white fairy flowers, the petals that would fly when the wind blew.

Dareen's and Mary's footsteps also flew it. The cool breeze touches the skin. As far as the eye can see, big, towering trees and lush forests can be seen.

A high tower with old painted walls looks very sturdy. The age of buildings must be older than themselves. The tower that stood since a thousand years ago.

"Master, before we enter." Her words were stuck.

"I want to remind you that Duke Leon must be there doing research. Some magicians also handle Mana power." Mary explained anxiously.

"I'm afraid there will be another incident like this afternoon, sir." She added back.

"Thanks for your concern, Mary."

"Don't worry, I won't act this time," Dareen answered confidently.

They arrived and were confronted by a giant five-meter-tall door tightly shut. Decorated with burning torches that are being extinguished.

Mary opened the door for her master and entered. They were immediately greeted with many stairs leading to the top.

"Are you all right to come with me to this tower?" Dareen asked, glancing at Mary.

"It's all right, sir."

"The servants are often seen going in and out to meet the needs of the Duke and the magicians. Sometimes we come back at night even if it's just to help clean up the equipment to keep the tower clean and tidy." explain.

They passed the first floor where the magicians were working. Their experiment was also seen as smoky and dusty.

The fires burned the liquid in the glass, and the books flew.

As Mary said, they were busy holding brooms and rags. In the back is a spacious bookcase covering the worn gray wall. Watched their arrival and walked away.

The destination was located on the second floor, while they had just arrived in the first room. The library holds important books, precious parchments, and storied history.

"At the top is where Duke Leon works, observing all the movements of the magic Mana scattered throughout the world,"

They were greeted back by stairs. Not only that, light blue flames were hovering above their heads, moving at their own pace and not interfering with the journey.

Flying between shoulders and legs, lighting up the quiet, dark street.

After climbing the stairs, a large window facing was opened, dazzling the eyes that had just come out of it.

A few yards from where they had arrived, a large, gleaming silver door was closed, adorned with rubies and blue gems, the hallmark of the Moore family.

There was a gap to place a hand as a key that only the descendants of magic mana users could access to open it wide.

The library could not be entered other than them, although people also had the exact source of power.

Darren walked to the big door, saw the key, put his body down, and tried to get his Mana out.

Mary watched from a distance, not daring to approach. Even witches are forbidden to be in the room.

Light blue, slightly greenish gold Mana oozed out of his hand. The embellished stones shone with color, engine gears turning loudly from within the walls, and the library door stretched open in front.

Books that cannot be counted are neatly arranged in ample cupboards. The colors of their books vary. They look worn, shabby, and old. Thanks to the magic, the seals maintain their quality, so they are well preserved despite being hundreds of years old.

"I can only lead you here, sir. We are forbidden to approach this room," said Mary, lowering her head.

"Thank you very much, Mary, for accompanying me all the way here," Dareen continued while looking at her.

The short-haired girl turned down the stairs, disappeared, and was no longer seen. There was the smell of an old book in his nostrils. The damp room was blocked by sunlight.

Darren walking in, heard the door behind him closing on its own, keeping others from sneaking into the library.

Go towards the window far from the entrance. Open one, so it doesn't get stuffy. The broad view is soothing with the vast green field, and the clouds move in the wind's direction.

[Ciut..ciiit] the sound of birds echoed inside.

The wind blew the trees, making the handkerchief tied around his neck flutter.

Darren approached the closet, which was presented with old books, which confused him about where to start. Not forgetting to take some that were located above the library stairs, his eyes fell on the Rhodes imperial history book, Mana power, and origins, and the one that read 'Disgrace.'

The sunlight shone through one of the broken glass ornaments, forming the same pattern in the bathroom, illuminating the place. About four to five books are already in hand, hoping one of the books here can help him get out of the novel story.

The white clothes he was wearing now were stained with dust and blood, not looking like the clothes of a luxurious noble. Darren sat at a large table, befriending a row of chairs made of good quality old and shiny teak.

The cushioned chair is made of plush red velvet cotton, surrounded by embroidered gold and silver threads.

[Krieet]

The blue rose decoration is right in the middle of the cushioned fabric for the chair. The wood carving is also very antique, like the dragon accent belonging to the On country looks like vines.

Darren sat, reading the books in front of him.

The Kingdom of Rhodes was born thanks to the efforts of the five Mana controllers. They have their own designations and powers: Spirit, Magic, Weapons, hard stones, and Knights after fighting dragons.

It's in the first and second chapters.
