Chapter 7 – The Labyrinth Illusions
After reading the history book of the founding of the Rhodes empire and how this kingdom emerged, Darren was amazed and fascinated by the heroic story of those born of one of the most respected descendants in establishing the kingdom.
In other historical records, five hundred years ago, after Moore's family finished sealing Mana, once every hundred years, the successor boys would go wandering and perform the task after reaching the peak of maturity.
After returning from the mission, the previous head of the successor family helped at the unique altar ceremony. The King and other dignitaries witnessed and were a success. They heard that the court had hung his uncle because he had signs he was about to stage a coup usurpation with his followers.
"Calm down, my son," trying to calm him, who looked at the King in disbelief.
"What have I missed?"
The young man ran out of the room to meet his uncle.
"What happened? While leaving the hometown and family."
[Braak] forced the door open.
Seeing the body of his beloved uncle lying on the bed, which was attended by several people waiting for his arrival, let the two of them inside.
Then aunt entered the room. "How are you?"
"I know for you to believe this, but…" her words trailed off, wiping her tears.
His aunt told him they were slandered for rebellion against the King; even though everyone knew that he had never carried out any suspicious activity, all he did was work, trade, and be with his family.
As a beloved nephew, hearing stories from his aunt instantly made him angry; at that time, the woman who was busy squeezing a handkerchief asked to resurrect her husband because she knew that the man who was considered her son already had perfect power as a successor.
Her words melted him to revive; his aunt promised to leave the residence and leave the kingdom of Rhodes.
The young man accepted the request and granted it; he recalled seeing his father revive a bluebird that had died as a child while in the library.
He took his father's parchment in the tower and then prepared everything needed; the young man began to chant and placed his uncle in the magic circle of the pentagon.
[Wooshh]
It took a long time to revive his uncle and succeed.
"Honey!" hug after seeing her husband sitting in a confused state.
"I feel like I fell asleep," he said.
The young man wished his uncle and family to live peacefully outside the cruel empire and accused them without evidence.
A year later, the Rhodes empire was attacked by rebels led directly by a familiar person, namely his uncle. Luckily their actions and followers can be stopped; many of the victims died from outside, leaving a few buildings of the kingdom destroyed.
After the renovations were complete, they were beheaded without leaving a single person; the royal troops went into hiding, confiscated all the treasures, and then distributed them to the citizens of Rhodes as compensation.
The young man was struck, "O young man, you have performed heavy magic without the permission of the kingdom of Rhodes, raised the dead after being sentenced by the King, and it was suspected that you participated in attacking the land where the gods were born to carry out rebellions," the person in power at that time readout immediately petitioned to prosecute him.
In a trial attended by high-ranking royals, the Moore family negotiated to see the magnitude of history from Rhodes up to time.
The King had only sentenced and forbade doing magic to revive the dead, considering it was against fate and the magnitude of the impact. All movements must be with the King's permission. Moore's family has to obey and follow the orders of the empire.
After the pledge of restraint was read, the family agreed with the empire to withhold some of the power of the Moore descendant Mana stone held directly by the King, resulting in a complete eye change.
The gem blue eyes signify that the entire Moore family is held complete by the King using magic.
The book does not mention the young man's name because it was considered a big disgrace to the family, so the incident was never recorded during school history lessons.
After reading the history of the formation of the Rhodes empire and the parchments containing attempted treason, Darren finds other writings about sacred beings.
He was the pet of the gods, the magical beast that knew everything, even before the land was created.
Only the descendants of perfect Mana Control could summon it, but they would have to sacrifice blood into a particular vessel if any of the descendants wanted to do so.
Every family head has the cup and hides it in a secret place.
"Crazy!" Dareen said, placing a hand on her chin.
The night changed; the cold wind from the open window blew the curtains, piercing the bones, and the smell of dust also flew.
Darren finished his activity and got up from his seat.
[Kriek] squeaks of chairs echoed in the library, walking back to put things in their place.
Exiting the library and down the stairs, the windows no longer seemed to let out light to illuminate the tower walls, leaving only fireballs flying.
The first floor was deserted of servants, leaving the magicians still there. Darren ignored people's stares at him and walked past.
The moon and the breeze entered the mansion's hallway, accompanied by thoughts wandering somewhere. Suddenly in the room, seeing the soft bed, Dareen immediately threw his body.
It was still very dark in the morning; no one was roaming the big mansion. Darren just realized that a hidden place had not been explored; suddenly, he woke up from his sleep and immediately rushed to run towards the tower.
The room was on the third floor, belonging to his father's workplace. Darren immediately left the room before his father came into the room, arriving in a room that looked dim with only moonlight.
Walking through Duke Leon's table, the room was sealed off like a maze, confusing him, especially in a humid place with no lighting.
If he lingered there, his father would surely come soon, but if he left now, his efforts would be in vain; there was no guarantee for him beyond that they would meet each other.
"There must be a way out of here," Dareen said, focusing on trying to get his Mana out like during a battle or opening a library room.
Light blue Mana overflowed from his body, then the labyrinths in front of him looked like illusions that could be pierced through with force.
[Krieet….]
With the sound of the wooden door suddenly opening, Dareen saw his father's shadow enter, then looked for a place to hide behind the desk and stopped the flow of Mana in the body. He was sitting, trying to listen to the person's movement on the other side with a ragged breath.
[Hufth...hhosh]
Worried about the sound of blowing, Darren covered his mouth and nose with the back of his hand.
[Tap…tap…tap] heavy footsteps headed out; after confirming he was no longer there, Dareen rushed to draw Mana to break through the walls.
The room only the magical Mana possessor could enter and the library's defense system, the result of hundreds of years of experimentation by Moore's family, were applied with other controllers.
