Yeah,i thought she exited the room because i was blinded by hunger, i noticed her presence when her mom asked me why i was not eating, my eyes and her's met and she was smiling like she just won a trophy, i maintained my gaze and so did she, since i had no excuse to give Yabida, i carefully opened the lid on the food and the food looks inviting so i courageously picked up the fork she placed beside my food and twisted it into the plate of spaghetti in front of me and i prepared my self for what so ever evil she has planned for me. Neither did i alter my gaze nor did she as i fed myself with the little spaghetti that was no the fork and my eyes went wide on their own accord as the taste of the food in my mouth hit my taste bud, i was flabagasted and overwhelmed at the taste of the food not just the taste of the food but at the cook also, i saw her sigh in relive as she broke the eye contact but that was not what mattered, what mattered was the fact that she fooled and tricked me and i was too insensitive to notice but who am i kidding with the type of girl Maimuna is known to be, even the smartest person wouldn't come to know what she had planned. The food i just tasted was same as that of Abduljaleel, am sure you are wondering how i came to know of this right?? I came to know of it because of Abduljaleel's comment on the food, Maimuna was indeed a great cook, all the ingredients in the food were on point non of it was excess or lacking but for someone who lives in a village and cooks like this she sure is a rare gem. what still had me thinking was how much it took her to pull such stunt, i don't think even my genius brother Na'im could have done this, the part where she opened the lid on the food and swapping it with the other one was just so i would think she added or has done something to my food and she was right, that was what i thought. if it was someone she did what she did to me i would have given her a trophy for she was worth it.
The next morning after my subhi prayers,i was about to go back to sleep, i herd someone said salam and came inside the room even before i could answer, typical Maimuna she never waits for her salam to be answered. she greeted me and asked what we would like for breakfast to which i answered indomie and boiled egg. It was after she left i remembered that Abduljaleel doesn't eat boiled egg, i wanted calling her back but an idea came to my head why don't i use this to avenge what she did to me yesterday night. don't judge me we are in the world of vengeance and i would have revenged even if it was not now but what better way do i have than set her up with her mum??? i smiled evilly as i had my plan sketched out and kept on imagining the kind of predicament she would be in when i carry out my plan and before i knew it i was fast asleep already. I woke up to the sounds of laughter from the parlor i checked my phone for the time and it was already past 10am, i woke Abduljaleel so we could have our breakfast. oh my god how could i forget this guy is a sleepy head it took me almost forever to get his lazy ass off the bed. We said our salam and entered the parlor, we immediately squatted and greeted Ndagi Afa and Yabida good morning and they both answered in unison and yabida asked Maimuna to bring our breakfast while me and Abduljaleel where greeting the other people present in the parlor and starting chatting away with them.
The moment Maimuna dropped the food flask in front of me i looked at her and smiled before opening the flask while she hissed, turned and was about to leave but i called her which made her turn back and everyone's attention was now on us, "Maimuna haba mana what sort of thing is this at least if not for my sake for Abduljaleel's sake, i know you don't like me but i never knew you would drag Abduljaleel into this mess" i said faking sadness. Yabida immediately stood up and asked me what happened, i told her how Maimuna came to me this morning and asked me what we wanted for breakfast i told her yam and egg would do but she told me she has no strength so she will just prepare indomie and boiled egg for us, i pleaded with her not to because Abduljaleel doesn't eat boiled eggs and i too don't like indomie that much yet she told me she was not my house help or my wife and if i wanted someone i will give commands to then it is either when next i am coming i come with a maid or i come with my wife so she won't be dragged into my mess but i ignored her thinking maybe she was just joking i never knew she was serious. After my false narration as expected Maimuna was dumbstruck and couldn't utter even a word not even when Ndagi Afa and Yabida were asking her if that was what she really did and what she was thinking when she did that. Ndagi Afa didn't say much to her since he was almost leaving for his farm before the drama unfolded all he did was scold her and ask her to go and prepare the yam and egg i asked for, as for Yabida she did what i least expected.... she slapped Maimuna before she started her own scolding bringing back old memories of what she has done before and how Maimuna will not kill her because she didn't kill her own mother. *a typical nupe mother's saying*
