' Meenoo! Meenoo!! Meenooooooo!!? Foolish girl get up joor, do you think i have forever?? You where there when HajiyaMama said she was already in kpachita to pick me up, and will like to leave today. Babe the last thing i want is wasting her time, and here you are sleeping like a royal log of wood.' i said to meenoo as i came out of the bathroom, that girl has been sleeping since we left the exam hall yesterday, i am not blaming her because mathematics was our last paper, we all came out of the hall with our heads smoking as if they were set on fire, and the fact that some of us won't be coming back to the school did not help matters at all, last night was not just our usual goodbye night but rather a gift exchange and crying night, i felt pity for those that had choco. 'Excuse you abeg because you will be going to Lagos the whole world will not hear the end of it abii, you will be going to Lagos doesn't mean you wake me up by 4am for Gods sakes, secondly i told you to simply call her mummy not HajiyaMama but no, your stupidity won't allow you then lastly she came back to Niger because of you so there is no way in hell she is leaving without you, so now do me the favor of calming down your nerves and letting me sleep till they call subhi prayers..... Thank you.' meenoo said going back to her forsaken sleep, i swear to go if mummy as she said i should call her leaves before i arrive home i am going to slit her throat. You will be wondering why i am waking her up and why i am worried she will make me late right?? That is because we always leave the school gate together, i can't leave when she is not yet ready and she can't leave if i am not ready either, urrggh now i know how she feels when i waste her time because i live close by and don't want her to leave me.
Yayiii... I just knew she would wait for me, i just too love this woman if it was my mum she would have been long gone and will keep a message for me. I immediately jumped off the bike as it stopped infront of my house where people mostly my family members were gathered with bags which i know belong to no other but me, my younger one's ran towards me and hugged me, collected my bags and took them inside. 'Ya maimuna is it true that you will not be my sister again, is it true that you will be living in Lagos from now on, is it true that i will not see you again? Mama and Baba said you will be following Hajiya to her house so dose that mean she will be your new mum??' Abubakar my younger brother asked all in one breath, i decided to play dumb and said 'who said i won't be your sister again and who said i am going to Lagos with Hajiya and how will i get a new mum.' every one laughed at our exchange, typical... Nigerian's always answering questions with questions. 'If it was someone that said this now Amuna will be like my questions deserves an answer not more questions' Ya Kabiru said smiling while i just shook my head and smiled also. Mama and Baba called me to their room and when i entered they were both sitting on the bed so i sat on the floor. 'Amuna you know your Aunt has been bugging me to let you spend some time with her but i refused, well i refused not because i don't want you to go but because i don't want people to think i can't take care of you that is why i gave you to her, this time around she blackmailed me saying i am stopping you from coming because she doesn't have any female child.... I have no other option than to let you go with her Amuna, but please don't make me regret this decision, i trust you that is why i am letting you go but remember the daughter of who you are.' Baba said with a straight face. 'In sha Allahu Baba i will go and make you proud but for how long will i be staying there with them?' I asked wanting to be sure of the time i have. 'Keep quiet and wait for us to finish, Hajiya asked for 4 months but you know how our relationship is with her so you cannot ask her when she will be bringing you back, she will bring you back when she is ready. Amuna! Amuna!! How many times did i call your name? Be careful, lagos is a cosmopolitan city where you can't predict what comes your way. Respect everyone you meet in that house because most of them are older than you and it is their house not yours, don't touch what you are not asked to, don't look for trouble around and don't fight, i know how i trained you so i won't be saying much, go and say goodbye to your siblings because we have kept Hajiya waiting for a long time.' mama said smiling. I said goodbye to everyone but it was harder when i was saying goodbye to my younger one's and i finally left after promising them to bring back goodies for them.
At Lagos
I was laying down in my room..... Yes you heard me right in my room, the room i was given and i was supposed to stay alone. I never imagined i would ever stay in a whole room alone and for some people this is a house not just a room because it has a bathroom attached to it and a very big closet, the closet is so big that i can walk around inside and even get dressed inside..... This people are really enjoying. Have you seen the house?? Oh sorry have you seen the mansion?? It is so big and beautiful, i don't think i will ever get tired of visiting them.
Knock knock knock i heard someone banging the door 'yes who is there? come in.' I said still laying on the comfy bed and then mummy came in. Maimu why are you still on the bed the way i left you?
