-Velori's Hospital Room-
"FINE? How is this," Ben pointed at Velori. "Fine? Look at her." He turned his head to Velori, emphasizing his statement to them.
Gairett was taken aback by his words. In his mind he was going to protect her, yet here was this man saying his mere presence was the reason she was in the hospital. His anger bubbled over before he could stop it.
"How dare you! If you were this "great friend" that Anne suggests, why have I never met you before? Why has Velori never mentioned you? I trust you little so don't you dare point blame at me!" He expected Ben to turn and argue back but that didn't happen. Instead, all he saw, was a hurt man staring at his very hurt friend.
Anne had her hand up at her mouth at this point and Tayen stood at Gairett's side. It seemed an eternity passed with the beeping of the machines and the deep breaths of sleep from both Velori and Hale.
