Gairett, Tayen and Anne all walked outside the room in order to give Ben some time with Velori.
"I know you've grown close with our Velori, Gairett. I can see how much she means to you. Even in the short amount of time you've been here, but..." Anne paused, trying to collect the right words. "Ben is her closest friend. I'd ask that you please... be tender with him? It pains him more than anyone could understand to see her like this."
Once again Gairett felt pity for the man. It was obvious he cared for her deeply, yet was unable to show it and now the object of his affection lay unconscious and fully out of his reach.
He bowed his head, accepting her request and the chastisement.
"Thank you. Truly. Ever since you've come around, things have been..." Anne's attention jerked towards the door as if she'd heard something. Only moments after, she rushed back into the room, leaving Gairett and Tayen in the hallway.
