Freya had been wanting to get her hair cut in America, but she never got around to it. Swamped with work, she was extremely busy, especially preparing for her upcoming exhibition. After months of neglect, her long locks were just an inch away from her waist.
She didn't want to get it cut too short, having it at mid-length would be fine.
"Julia, are you sure you just want your hair straightened?"
"Yes. I like to try something different this time, something simple."
Freya didn't ask her any further questions. It was good enough that she is trying something new with her hair or should she say something simple since she always loves to be the center of attention. She always dresses up pretty flamboyant.
Turning her head, she is faced with the burning gaze of a woman who just finished getting her hair done.
Other than feeling uncomfortable, Freya felt that this woman looked very familiar. But she is certain that she has never met her before.
But that was not even the issue, the real problem was the woman's intense stare.
Why is she looking at her with such greedy eyes, as if she's a bag of money?
Tiana couldn't help herself. Ever since she was a little girl, she has been obsessed with beautiful things. She feels that searching the world and gathering all the rare and beautiful things is her calling in life.
What stumped her now is this woman's identity. She has no idea who she is.
She is a VIP here and has visited this hair salon many times but has never seen her before. If she had, she would have made friends with her long ago.
Just who exactly is she and why was she meeting such a beauty so late in her life?
Tiana sighed and comforted herself, it's better late than never. She was only twenty-five, she still had her whole life ahead of her.
Noticing that Freya had caught her staring, Tiana hurriedly looked away and pretended to busy herself with some hair products on the table in front of her. Simultaneously, she was planning a way to approach her.
"Ms. Hendrix, we're done now."
Bella felt puzzled.
Why is Ms. Hendrix still here? Didn't she just want a trim or does she want something else done?
Tiana took another glance at Freya, seeing she was nowhere near finishing her hair, she decided to stall for time.
"No, not yet. I want some temporary color. Dark brown."
Bella nodded her head and proceeded to work diligently.
By the time she had finished, the lady styling Freya's hair had finished as well.
Freya and Julia were already outside the door by the time Tiana caught up and 'bumped' into them. She tumbled to the ground from the impact of the 'fall'.
"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Looking at the woman sprawled on the floor, Freya hurriedly apologized and helped her up.
Patting her clothes, Tiana put on a pitiful expression and pretended to force a smile.
"I'm fine and it's my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going."
"No, we were blocking the door, I didn't know." Freya scanned Tiana from head to toe ensuring that she wasn't hurt.
Julia looked on at this farce and felt bewildered. 'When did her prudent friend become naive? How is she unable to see through such a simple act? This person is clearly pretending.'
While Julia was still trying to figure out the meaning of life, Tiana started rummaging through her purse with a panicked expression.
"Did you drop something?"
"Yes, my wallet. I'm supposed to meet up with my friends at the mall and I'm already a few minutes late. I was planning to take a taxi to City Center Mall, but I can't anymore."
"We're going to the City Center Mall too. Do you need a ride?"
Freya didn't completely trust this woman, but her appearance kind of reminded her of someone', she didn't know why.
"Alright, thank you. I will tell my friends that I'll be a little late." Tiana felt very happy that her plan succeeded and used this moment to text her driver waiting in the parking lot to go home.
