Freya stared at herself in the mirror, smoothing out her dress and adjusting her bracelet. She was nervous about attending the charity event tonight. even though she knew it was for a good cause.
If it was not the only reason that she was here in Spain she would have changed back into her comfy pajamas by now and would have declined the invitation to go there.
The sun was setting over the city skyline as Freya made her way to the charity event with Juliya, and James.
As they walked up to the grand entrance, Feya felt a twinge of nervousness in her stomach. She couldn't help but feel like something was off.
She had been invited to countless events over the years, but tonight was different. She had a feeling that something was going to happen. She didn't know why, but she couldn't shake the feeling.
Her friend, Juliya, noticed and asked, "Is everything okay?"
Freya nodded, "Yeah, I'm just a little nervous, that's all."
Juliya gave her a reassuring smile and linked arms with her. "Don't worry, we'll be with you the whole time."
As they entered the ballroom, Freya's eyes swept across the sea of people in their finery. Looking around the crowd Freya and Juliya spot Tiana across the crowded room and make their way over to her, weaving through the throngs of people dancing and socializing.
"Tiana, hey!" Freya calls out, waving excitedly.
Tiana turns and sees them, a wide smile spreading across her face. "Hey, guys! I'm so glad you made it!" she says, giving them each a hug.
The three of them catch up on each other's lives, chatting and laughing as they make their way to the refreshment table.
Just when Tiana was about to introduce Freya and Julita to her so-called friends.
One man caught Freya's attention. He was tall, with dark hair and piercing green eyes. He was watching her intently, and Freya felt a shiver run down her spine. She didn't know why, but she felt like she knew him from somewhere.
As the night wears on, Freya can't help but feel the man's gaze on her throughout the party. Her friend Juliya notices and asks if she's okay.
"Yeah, I'm fine," the female lead says, trying to brush it off.
But Juliya isn't convinced. "I think that man over there is staring at you. Do you know him?"
Freya looks in the direction Juliya is pointing and sees the same man she noticed earlier. "No, I don't know him," she says.
Tiana nudged her. "Freya, that's my older brother Lucas Hendrix over there."
Juliya looked at Tiana with confusion. "Lucas Hendrix? Who is he?."
Tiana looked at Juliya with bewilderment. "You don't know my older brother?? He is the most eligible bachelor according to The Times and the new CEO of the world-famous Hendrix Enterprises. How do you not know him?"
Not interested in answering Tiana's question, Juliya simply shrugs off her question and walks away toward her brother James since in her eyes James is the most eligible bachelor.
Freya's heart skipped a beat after listening to Tiana's explanation and she felt a sense of fear as she was in danger. She looked toward Lucas and accidentally locked eyes with him.
When Lucas's eyes locked onto Freya's, he felt his heart skip a beat. He couldn't believe it was her. His soulmate. The woman he had been searching for over the past five years suddenly appeared right before him. No one knows how scared and regretful he had been when he couldn't find a trace of her whereabouts. He kept on thinking the worst and hoped that nothing bad had happened to her. But here she was right now in this party, standing in his very line of sight.
She looks even more beautiful than she had while they were still together.
But Freya didn't recognize him. She felt a strange sense of fear when she looked at him, but she couldn't place why.
Lucas could see the confusion on her face, and he knew he had to talk to her.
As the night wore on, Lucas kept finding ways to approach Freya even though she tried to avoid him. He seemed to be everywhere she went, and she couldn't shake the feeling that he was following her. And then, at one point in the evening, he found his chance when Freya was talking with Tiana in a secluded area of the ballroom.
He made his way over to her, introducing himself as if they were meeting for the first time.
Seeing that her brother Lucas Hendrix has taken an interest in someone after such a long time. Tiana was very happy and wanted to tell her mother about it as soon as possible.
So she excused herself to call her mother, giving them some space.
As they talked, Lucas couldn't help but feel a much stronger connection with Freya than before. He knew the pull was because she was his soulmate.
He was watching her every move, every action, and every expression and so he figure out that maybe there is a possibility that she didn't remember their past.
So that's why he decided to take things slow, not wanting to scare her off.
Meanwhile, Juliya and James were talking with the host of the event, completely unaware of what Freya and Lucas were up to. They were caught up in the excitement of the event and had no idea what was going on between the two of them.
As the night went on, Lucas and Freya continued to talk and dance, getting lost in the music and each other's company. Frey couldn't explain it, but she felt drawn to Lucas. She didn't know why, but she trusted him.
Little did she know, Lucas was an alpha werewolf king, who would stop at nothing to keep her by his side.
