A sleek, black limo pulls up in front of the hotel La Esperanza Granada. Where the charity event was held. Stepping out of it are two graceful figures.
Before they even have time to land, they are encircled by a large crowd with enthusiastic and expectant faces.
"Mr. Hendrix, Ms. Hendrix, the two of you came. "
"Wow, you both are so beautiful."
"The most notable among the younger generation."
"Your parents must be proud to have children like you."
Hearing all the flattery around them, Lucas Hendrix and Tiana Hendrix their expressions don't change in the slightest. Attending events like these and being surrounded by people trying to curry favor with them was a part of the siblings' daily lives.
The fawning crowd noticed that they were not getting the response that they wanted. So they unanimously decided to change their approach and target only one of the siblings instead.
They were wise enough to know that no matter how well they could flatter, Lucas Hendrix wouldn't breathe a word of reply. As a result, they all swarmed around Tiana Hendrix.
Thus the evening went on.
After about an hour, Tiana got tired of listening to honeyed words, fake smiles, and pretending to give a jack about what people had to say. She knew that she was a great actress, but everyone had their limits. As she was getting ready to escape from the crowd, a young woman with a white dress came up to her smiling.
"Miss Hendrix, this dark brown hair color looks so lovely on you."
It was a normal complement, and the girl was not more charming than any of the others. But thinking of the reason why she dyed her hair dark brown in the first place, Tiana Hendrix can't help but reveal a beautiful smile.
"Thank you. It came as an inspiration from a friend."
On the other side of the room, Lucas grabbed another refill of the whiskey from the waiter and continued to half-listen to the host of today's charity event as Mr. Jax Wilson droned on and on about his pack and business. Mr. Jax was a short pudgy man with a balding head and pale skin. He was wearing a brown suit that was fitted and a young assistant stood behind him to the right waiting to feed him information. If his boss forgot a figure or point, he was trying to discuss it with Lucas. While Lucas nodded his head pretending to listen to him.
Since Layla had already told him everything that there is to know regarding Mr. Jax's pack or business.
Just when he was about to get bored out of his mind Lucas heard his sister Tiana telling others about his new friend.
Hearing his sister's enthusiastic response, Lucas raises a brow and questions her through the mind link.
""If you have a friend, then why isn't she here? Wouldn't it be much easier for you?""
Tiana felt aggrieved, she wanted nothing more than for her new 'best friend' to be here with her. Not only would she enjoy her company, but it would also be a great opportunity for her to meet her brother.
""That's none of your business.""
""She isn't real, is she?""
Lucas Hendrix wouldn't believe what his sister said. Not only did she lie a lot to get what she wanted, but this wouldn't be the first time that she would claim to have a friend. The other times all ended up being girls that she just made up.
Feeling upset that she was being doubted, Tiana frowns and speaks through the mind link ""She's just as real as your ex-girlfriend.""
Hearing her reply Lucas simply looked at her and smiled although anyone can tell there was a murderous intent behind that smile and none of his smiles reached his blue eyes.
Before Lucas can give a reply to Tiana He smells the most amazing scent he had ever come across. Lavender and Cherry Blossom fill the room as he looks around for the culprit. He noticed a trio entering the hall and after looking a little bit more carefully he finally saw the face that he had been dying to see for the last five years.
She was walking through the party. She was in a black gown that hugged her athletically slim legs and ass and complemented her fair skin which was almost the shade of porcelain. She had rosy cheeks and brown hair with a tint of red in it that looked thick and fell halfway down her back. She brushed past the crowd and walked towards his sister. Her scent was caressing him and he knew that his suspicion was right. She was his mate. She had to be.
""Did you see that my best friend is real and here she is coming to meet me.""
Snickered Tiana as she winked at Lucas from across the room.
