Leaving his office, Layla is stopped at the door and faced with a reproachful glare.
"Young miss." Layla greets Tiana respectfully and pretends not to see the displeased look on her face.
Tiana ignores her greeting and furrows her brows.
"Why are you here?"
"I came to give outfits for tomorrow's banquet."
"You should come to my brother's room less often and if you need to deliver something to him, give it to his assistant. If everyone was like you and walked into your alphas room whenever they had something to report or to send something, wouldn't this place be a circus?"
"But aunty had said Alpha should be checked on regularly to make sure that he is taking proper care of his health."
"He doesn't need you to do that for him. He has me, his sister, and I am more capable than an assistant."
Hearing her words, Layla secretly clenches her fist.
Indeed she was nothing to him, the previous Alpha and Luna his parents may be nice to her but that doesn't make her a part of his family. She wasn't even sure if he saw her as a woman or an asset. But that didn't matter, being by his side was enough. He would be hers and hers alone. If she couldn't have him, then no one could. Anyone who came between them would need to leave, even if that person was his sister or his mate.
Layla nodded her head and 'thanked' Tiana for relieving her of her duty before walking off.
Staring at her receding figure, the frown on Tiana's face deepens.
This girl gives her the creeps.
To make things worse, she was in love with her brother. Even though she covers it with her stoic expressions and monotone speech, she could still tell. She wasn't just in love, she was obsessed. Following her brother around like a stalker all in the name of during her job.
What if someone like this becomes her Luna?
Layla has never done anything wrong, but she just doesn't like her. The way she walks and carries herself... It all seems fake. Like some huge act.
Tiana has always claimed herself to be a good judge of a person's true nature. And what she feels from Layla is an intense murderous aura. It radiates from the core of this seemingly obedient young woman. Even though it's normal for a werewolf to be intimidating, the vibe Layla gives off is sinister and almost inhuman. Like a sociopath who just found a new obsession.
She doesn't have any evidence to support her claim so her parents won't let her send this 'innocent' girl without a family away. But that doesn't mean that she won't do what she can. In her opinion, it was best for her brother to keep his distance.
Although her brother still hasn't found his mate, she knows he will find her soon, and then getting Layla in control would be tough.
After Layla left, Tiana turns her gaze to the door and pokes her nose through it to get a good look. Seeing her brother's brooding figure, she pouts.
She would rather not deal with the 'iceberg' while he was like this.
"I need to get my bob trimmed." Finding herself a valid excuse, Tiana hurries off to the hair salon.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Tiana smiles in satisfaction.
"Mary, you're the best." She sincerely praises her hairdresser.
"Ms. Hendrix, I didn't do much, your hair is naturally beautiful."
Tiana tilts her head to the side accepting the compliment. Her eyes widen at the sight of the two women getting their hair done.
One was a vampire with blond hair and with black contact lens and the other was a human with black hair with green eyes. Both were clad in beautiful designer dresses. One was red, the other was black and gold.
Tiana's gaze didn't leave the green-eyed beauty getting her hair cut and curled.
