Rose's POV
I was called to Jack's office to discuss the special training. Tyler and dad were called too and we talked about the topic for hours. At the end of the meeting, we've decided that we will hold our special training in the Black Forest with a warrior who will be in charge of the whole training process. All of us were content with the decision, Layla included.
And right now, I am out with Tyler at the nearest supermarket. We were told that we would have to bring most of the important stuff with us since we would barely walk out of the forest and engage with people.
"What else do you think we need to buy now?" Tyler asked as I walked next to the trolley full of products which was blocking my sight.
"I am sure we've got all the things we will need there." I replied and ignored an old couple who were looking at us with awe. It's not the first time someone is shooting us those gooey eyes and I dismissed it.
"Make sure to buy the protection." The old man yelled over at us which made me stop dead on my tracks with wide eyes. My cheeks were flaming with heat and I waved my hands at them, telling them we weren't a couple. But they just smiled and walked away, the old man's hand on his beloved wife's waist.
There was an awkward silence between us as we walked around and filled the overflowing trolley with more things. Things got much better a few minutes later and we acted like the thing back there didn't happen at all.
And finally, we were emptying the trolley as we got prepared to pay. I stood there lazily till something caught my eye.
"Hey. Are you sure we would need this?" I asked Tyler as I waved a firecracker in front of his face. I've never put these in here so I am sure it was him who put it here.
"I mean, if we happen to stay there more than a year and have to spend our birthdays there, I think it would be really useful." "Aw, that's very thoughtful of you but don't you remember what your dad had told you? Are you trying to tell everyone in the world that you're celebrating your birthday when we're supposed to act like we are dead and make no contact with humans?"
"I mean, rules are meant to be broken, right?" He smiled sheepishly at me and I contemplated if I should buy it or not. But when I saw Tyler giving me puppy eyes, I couldn't help but put it back on the counter.
It took almost half an hour for us to check out and I hopped onto Tyler's car after loading the bags in the trunk.
"Are you excited?" I asked him as he sat on his seat and started the engine.
"I am not sure. I can't say I am excited because I won't be able to talk to new people and make new friends for years and I will have to train every day. But at the same time, I can't wait to go to the forest and just relish the feeling of fresh air."
"True. Do you think this is the occasion when I will meet my mate or something? I mean everything happens for a reason and this situation might be created so that I can meet my destined one or something." I wondered what it would feel like to meet your destined soulmate.
"Are you that eager to meet him?" There was a drastic change in his voice which made me study his face. His usual playful smile was gone and he stared at me as he waited for my answer.
"I mean, he is my destined one after all. I am by any means not eager to meet him. I know that he is my soulmate and he is out there somewhere but I am sure we will meet someday. So, till then I want to enjoy the rest of my days, enjoy the feeling of freedom and being single." Tyler smiled and had a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Forget about him. I can be with you for the rest of your life, accompanying you till you get tired of me till you won't even wanna breathe the same air." He briefly took his eyes off the road as he turned his head to my side and winked at me.
"Well, your mission is accomplished then because it's really hard for me to talk to you and breathe the same atmosphere right now thanks to your cliche and cringy pick-up lines." I joked and we laughed out loud. We joked around like we always did till we reached the kingdom.
Maids were asked to bring all of the stuffs to our room and we went on our separate ways. After taking a shower, I looked at my phone to see 48 missed calls from Miss Sassy, aka Jessica. And let's not forget the 108 messages from her.
My jaw opened and I lay on my bed, wondering why she had called. I took a deep breath and got ready to read the messages because I knew it'd take at least an hour to read all of the ass long paragraphs.
I was confused at first but got the grip of it as I kept on reading. She was going through shit as much as I am suffering and I dialed her no when I was done reading two third of the messages. That was enough for me to understand what was going on in her life.
But the call went to voice mail and I frowned at the screen. I looked at the first message she sent and noticed the entire hour had passed. After letting out a dramatic sigh, I sent her voice clips on how complicated our lives have turned to.
After I was done sending around lots of voice clips, I opened Wattpad and looked for new stories to read. It wasn't that I ran out of books to read or anything, I had hundreds of books in my library, waiting for me to read but I just wasn't in the mood to read one.
It almost became a habit or a guilty pleasure of mine to add new books to my library which will never be read.
After adding dozens of books, I decided that I should stop and start reading one. So, I chose one of the books in the library after going through the synopsis. And as I did it, I was getting sleepier and I decided it was time to sleep. After all, I had a long and tiring day.
